What does the apartment of the average German look like?

Many Germans, regardless of income level, have rather small apartments with tiny kitchens. This space is rarely used for cooking because Europeans are mostly used to eating in cafes and restaurants.

Simplicity and functionality

Germans are by nature very practical people and at home they love order and minimalism. All household items are as functional as possible - capacious wardrobes with many shelves and drawers, upholstered furniture with a storage compartment, etc.

The average German's kitchen must be present:

• Dishwasher
• Microwave
• Coffee maker or coffee machine
• Kitchen set with many cupboards

At the same time, the stove is mostly idle, and sets of ready-made food and canned food are stored in the refrigerator and lockers.

Sleeping and guest area

In the bedroom and living room, the Germans adhere to a restrained style and functionality. Both rooms must have a TV and, in rare cases, an air conditioner is installed (as a rule, all apartments have climate control).

Depending on the composition of the family, an apartment can consist of several rooms - usually no more than 3 rooms. If this space is not enough, the Germans try to move into the house. At the same time, almost none of the Europeans seek to own real estate - most sign a long-term lease agreement.

The balcony is the main pride

The Germans decorate their balconies with great care. Each resident considers it his duty to improve the appearance of the city in which he lives. Various flowers are grown on the balcony, the national flag of the country, bells or figurines made of plaster and plastic are hung.

In addition, Germans are very fond of spending free morning or evening hours on their favorite balcony. Therefore, they put a small table and folding chairs in this place.
