A bright annual with flower caps: no seedlings and whims, blooms from July to October
Fiery fireworks, fellow flower growers!
Have you already started choosing unpretentious annual flowers that will decorate your summer cottage or plot in the summer of 2020? I suggest that you consider in advance a rare but hassle-free colorful "chamomile".
Yes, there are already enough "daisies" in the garden: laconic nivyaniki, pink echinacea, delicate osteospermums, motley gatsania... And about unpretentious, long blooming and bright dill ursinia for some reason, few of the florists have heard. I will write why it is still worth paying attention to the flower. Especially for those summer residents who do not want unnecessary problems with growing, but they want bright colors on the site)
Who is she - Ursinia?
So, dill ursinia - this is a sprawling shrub that will not go unnoticed in any flower bed
. On the one hand - a bright orange color with a contrasting center, and on the other - rather big, but not gigantic sizes: the height of the bush will be 40-50 cm. So everything is in moderation! Before describing to you the delights of flowering, I would like to draw your attention to the non-standard greenery of ursinia. Thin shoots have a faint odor, which can be called one of the important features of an ornamental plant. Thin leaves, somewhat reminiscent of dill greens, make an excellent backdrop for bright flowers..
However, when the peak of flowering comes, neither stems nor leaves are almost invisible. After all, dill ursinia regularly demonstrates abundant flowering, which I cannot but tell separately:
The diameter of the beautiful Ursinia daisies is about 6 cm. There are several of them on the stem, which enhances the flowering effect. One bud withers - the next one opens its amber petals.
It is interesting: Another plus of decorating the site with ursinia is constant flowering. Many similar annuals close their flowers in rainy or cloudy weather. But this does not apply to our heroine: she does not fold her petals even in bad weather. Clever girl!
Flowering can be called very long! If you sow with seeds directly into open ground in early May (and in regions with a warm climate - at the end of April), you will see sunny bloom by early July. Few flowers are so generous! But, moreover, ursinia will bloom in the second half of June, if seeds are sown for seedlings in April.
The end of flowering is the onset of frost. In the middle lane, this is the end of September.
And I will also briefly add about the main (and pleasant!) Nuances of care:
- Loves the sun, so it blooms better in open areas.
- The flower should be watered only in dry weather.
- Ursinia blooms beautifully even without dressing. But in order for the flowering to be beautiful until autumn - feed with potassium monophosphate or any fertilizer for flowering in July.
