To do this, you need to use special devices - meters, one of which I want to tell you about in today's material.

It's about the analyzer and tester ZB2L3, which was purchased on the well-known Internet resource for 208,11 rubles.

I received my package within 14 days, which I consider very quickly, but what confused me a little was the extremely weak packaging. Considering the "careful" attitude to the parcels, this is not very good.

Well, okay, the main device came working.

It should be noted right away that you must also have pull-up resistors for full tests. The delivery set includes these two resistors with a resistance of 7.5 Ohm each:

So the tester ZB2L3 has the following characteristics:

Supply voltage: DC 4.5 - 6 V (micro USB connector).

Since the charger is not included in the package, I decided to use the charger from my old phone:

Charging to power the device

Operating current of the device: up to 70 mA.

The discharge voltage lies in the range from 1 V to 15V, that is, it is quite possible to test, for example, a car battery, but a 24 Volt battery will burn the device.

Maximum discharge current: 3 A.

Measurement error: voltage 1%, current 1.5%.

Maximum measurable capacity: 9999 Ah.

In addition, the display shows error codes and if you see on the screen:

  • Err1 - means the voltage of the tested battery exceeds 15 volts.
  • Err2 - the voltage of the tested battery is lower than the output voltage.
  • Err3 - too much resistance connected.
  • Err4 - Overcurrent (current above 3.1 Ampere).

First launch and test

So, now let's move on from theory to direct tests. The first test should be done with a fully charged cell. I will be using an 18650 battery that has been fully charged with a charger LiitoKala.

The verification scheme is extremely simple and in assembled form looks as follows:

Now it remains to press the "OK" button and that's it, the device will automatically start the discharge process and automatically complete it. In this case, the indicators on the screen will flash periodically.
