How to make a unique gift for women for the New Year? Learning to make roses in a flask with our own hands

Looking through the ratings and TOPs of New Year's gifts, I found that they often write negatively about flowers - supposedly too simple and banal! And I just had a rose in store for my sister.

And I am not at all ashamed of such a choice! Because this is an amazing flower in a bulb, durable (up to 2-3 years) and stylish, which, by the way, you can do if you repeat my steps.

I meticulously chose a flower - so that it was fresh, blossoming, with a strong stem and dense, not flabby petals.

There are three processing methods to keep it in this form:

1. Drying in semolina or rice to remove excess moisture, followed by filling with hairspray.

2. Melted wax coating, thanks to which a rose can stand not only under a glass cover, but also in a bouquet of dried flowers.

3. Glycerin treatment.

I chose the third, most laborious method, but also the one that gives the highest quality result. It consists of the following steps:

1. Prepare a 1: 1 solution of glycerin and boiled water at room temperature.

2. Dip into his rose, but - only part of the stem. Thus, glycerin will rise, gradually "preserving" the flower - its petals and leaves will remain almost the same fresh and elastic, and will also acquire a glossy shine.

3. Leave the rose in glycerin for 10-14 days, cutting off the stem by 0.5 cm every day.

In theory, flowers can be placed in different glass containers, which can then be tightly closed, but if you want to make a gift at a professional level, then you need to buy a flask with a lid in a store. Which I did.

But one rose in a flask is very boring in my opinion. Therefore, moss, artificial greenery, some more sparkles, twigs covered with silvery "frost", bright beads and even a silk ribbon were used! The result is such a picturesque chaos with a rose in the center.

I want to note that flowers under glass for sale last for a long time and do not deteriorate for the reason that air is pumped out of these containers with a vacuum pump. But I did without such a trick, even if the gift will last much less.

You can fix the rose at the bottom in different ways, the main thing is that everything is held firmly and the whole composition does not crumble from a simple movement of the bulb.

Perhaps I will create some more such gifts! This is an exciting, creative process, and it is not necessary to limit yourself to one rose - you can do this create whole bouquets, compositions, using the "basics" for them, which are sold in stores for florists.
