Experienced gardeners recommend! How and where to use it correctly

Everyone who grew up in the territory of the former Soviet Union heard about Vishnevsky's ointment. Recently, it has caused a lot of doubts about its effectiveness; a number of former republics even banned it for sale.

Fortunately, I bought it for the dacha with a margin, so I can maintain independence from political winds.

Why did I need a box of ointment in the country?

It's about its components:

● birch tar has a pungent odor, somewhat reminiscent of creosote. This is the substance with which wooden sleepers were impregnated;

● castor oil;

● xeroform - a bismuth-based substance that destroys microorganisms;

This penny means of high concentration helps me preserve the harvest until spring, protect the plantings and the dacha itself for the winter. The thing is that the pungent smell of liniment scares away rodents.

I apply in four ways:

1. I add half a tube of ointment to a clay mash or whitewash, which I coat the bottom of apple trees and other fruit trees. Hares love to eat bark in winter. In some places, the layer of insulation falls off, but the smell remains and scares away hares and mice under the snow.

2. The same mice hide for the winter in a bathhouse and a country house. I feel sorry for spreading poison everywhere and then looking for the remains of animals, and cats are poisoned.

I prefer to loosen ointment, treat all sills, floor crevices, corners or just floors. Especially carefully I go through the places where the wiring is laid.

Rodents do not stick around where they smell like tar. The solution is a tube in a bucket of water.

The method works well in the cellar, the only problem is the supply of winter apples. They absorb the smell into the pulp, the first crop was unknowingly completely spoiled.
But between the banks, around vegetables with a dense skin, rags or pieces of foam rubber with ointment should be spread out.

3. It is not easy to drive moles out of the garden, especially if you do not want to poison them and use all the cruel methods for which people are so inventive.

Fortunately, they have a keen sense of smell, so Vishnevsky's ointment becomes salvation here too. The kids are observant, they quickly find all the mole holes.

One has only to plug their passages and exits with rags soaked in ointment, as the animals prudently begin to break through the passages away from the dubious territory.

4. Another problem from mice is tulip plantings. The bulbs sit in the winter, and the animals do not touch those that are smeared with Vishnevsky's ointment.

Finally, in the spring, a meadow of tulips blooms, as it was intended in the fall, and not the pitiful remnants of a mouse meal.

This is the method that saved me unnecessary worries. There is no unnecessary fuss: you still have to do both cleaning and processing, adding ointments - a matter of a couple of minutes.
