5 of the best Early Cucumbers especially for those who want to feast on their Vegetables before anyone else

Not a single gardener will refuse to pick a sweet crunchy cucumber from the garden in June. I have been growing vegetables outdoors for over 20 years, and during this time have noted the earliest varieties and hybrids of cucumbers.

The period from the emergence of seedlings to the formation of the first greenery does not exceed 45 days. Such plants are also called "ultra-early ripening".

Courage

A hybrid plant that forms marketable greens 45-50 days after sowing. Only female flowers are laid on the bush, there is no barren flower.

Fruits with small tubercles, 14 cm long, dark green. Cucumbers are not bitter.

Courage can be grown in greenhouses and outdoors.

Cascade

The fruits of this variety are ready for harvesting 35-39 days after sowing. Zelentsy are lumpy, crispy, sweet, 14-15 cm long.

To obtain a bountiful harvest, cucumbers must be watered abundantly and fertilized every 2 weeks. I prepare a mash for plants from a mixture of weeds and bird droppings.

Hermann

The F1 hybrid is intended for indoor use, but I grow it outdoors. I sow seeds on a "warm" bed. Ripens 35 days after sprouting.

Finger-sized cucumbers, crispy and sweet. Suitable not only for salad, but also for salting.

Fontanelle

An excellent hybrid, well known to vegetable growers for early maturity and productivity. Ready to harvest 40 days after germination. Zelentsy prickly, 12-16 cm long, suitable for pickling.

The spring is good as a pollinator for other varieties, so I don't give it a separate garden bed. I sow it in a mixture with other varieties.

Muromsky

Old Russian ultra-early variety. It is ready for use within 35-40 days after the emergence of sprouts. Zelentsy are light green, smooth, 8-11 cm long. They quickly overripe and become pot-bellied, so the collection of fruits is carried out daily.

The plant is unpretentious, resistant to temperature extremes. Needs insect pollination. If you sow it in a greenhouse, you need to open the doors during the day and spray the flowers with honey water to attract the bees.

In addition to choosing early ripening cucumbers, I use some tricksfor an early harvest outdoors:

· In autumn I arrange a high "warm" bed of manure and straw;

· I germinate the seeds before sowing until the "spouts" appear;

· I cover the sowing site with a jar or a cut plastic bottle;

I mulch sprouts with straw or grass for warmth;

· I water the borage with only warmed water.

These techniques help me to shoot the first greens already in June, when sowing seeds in mid-May.
