What is the first thing Raspberry lacks in spring? Helping the shrubbery to enjoy large Berries this year
With the onset of spring, many summer residents and gardeners are thinking about what activities need to be carried out on their site in order to get a good harvest. Today I want to share with you tips for feeding raspberries.
After all, this shrub needs special care, and spring feeding is an important component of such care. Last year I carried out such a procedure with my bushes, and they thanked me with large and juicy berries.
Stages of spring care for raspberries
· First, you need to inspect the raspberry tree and clean it of dry leaves and broken branches.
· Secondly, you need to remove the weeds.
· Thirdly, the soil is loosened near the bushes.
· Fourthly, fertilization begins.
Raspberries can grow without fertilization, but there will be few berries on such bushes. And it is imperative to feed raspberries in the spring.
Indeed, it is during this period that active sap flow begins and the growth of shoots and leaves occurs. How strong these parts grow depends on whether the plant will be resistant to pests and diseases. And during this period, the foundation for the future harvest is laid.
By spring, raspberries are running out of nutrients, so it is important to provide them.
The most essential nutrient for raspberries is nitrogen. But with the dosage, you need to be careful not to provoke an overgrowth of green parts.
I like the following nitrogen fertilization method. I just scatter fertilizer around the bushes when the spring puddles have not melted yet. Together with the water from the puddles, the fertilizer is perfectly absorbed by the roots of the bush.
Make sure there is just melt water, not snow. After all, fertilizer will quickly evaporate from the snow and will not be useful. Some of my acquaintances start fertilizing during the flowering period. But, I believe that such feeding is less effective.
Nitrogen fertilizers are very necessary for raspberries, but so that they do not acidify the soil, you need to add a little wood ash to the soil after the procedure.
Also, do not forget to sometimes feed your raspberry bushes with organic fertilizers of natural origin. I use horse manure for this purpose.
How to prepare a solution of manure for feeding raspberries
This process is very simple. I take half a liter of manure and dilute it in 10 liters of water. Then I water the plants with this solution at a rate of 5 liters per square meter.
I hope my simple tips will help you get a good harvest of this tasty and healthy berry.
