Should a man be able to make repairs?
Today I want to talk about the fact that everyone should do their own thing. You do not need to be a universal soldier who does everything, but at the same time anyhow.
Such thoughts inspired me by a flash mob #I can not from PROFI.RU. Professionals admit that they are not professionals in everything, and this is normal. I myself think that amateur performance does not lead to anything good. And in my life I constantly meet this confirmation.
Here's a recent incident: a friend of mine decided to assemble the cabinet himself. And he is generally a lawyer, not a furniture assembler. He ended up ruining it on the day of purchase.
While I was figuring out where and what was attached, I was notably dragging the parts across the floor. There are scratches and scuffs. There are ugly gaps between the boxes. And I would call a pro, I would be happy with a high-quality assembly.
Therefore, I do only what I am sure of myself, and for everything else I call professionals. This is what I did when my daughter needed a separate nursery. My wife and I decided to divide the large walk-through room into a corridor and a nursery with a plasterboard partition.
I am an electrical engineer and can do a lot in this area. Most of our friends think that if you understand wiring and, in general, a man, you should be able to glue the wallpaper, build plasterboard partitions, and level the floors.
But this is the same as demanding from a cardiologist that he be able to perform operations on the brain. What? He's a doctor! Yes, I know about electrics, but not repair work.
I will not do it myself
Of course, I could watch videos on the Internet and at the very least do everything myself. But how much time will I spend on this? At least a month, while a professional will do it in a couple of weeks. And there is a chance of ruining something, as in the case of that closet.
I also work, like most people, from 8 to 5, Monday through Friday. On weekends, I want to relax, do my housework and spend time with my family, not jumping with a drill. Therefore, I always call a professional for repair work.
I'm not ashamed to speak #I can not. I am sure that everyone should do what they can do. And for what you don't know how, there are specialists PROFI.RU.
If you really want to practice plastering, assembling furniture, or wallpapering, at least ask for advice. Many experts advise online.
An online consultation with a repairman is useful if you do not know where to start, what the estimate is, whether you need a designer, and so on.
And you, my dear readers, I ask you to write in the comments, do you agree with my opinion? What do you do at home yourself, and what do you entrust to specialists?
