Find out after what Crops you should never plant Cabbage in this place. Don't make mistakes like me

Like all gardeners, I learned a lot from my mistakes. For example, crop rotation rules. I thought it was so stupid! You just need to fertilize the soil properly in the fall and you can plant anything and after anything!

And as a result, several times I got a meager harvest, or even fought against diseases and pests, which for some reason chose my beds especially aggressively.

Now I do everything according to science and I want to share with other gardeners advice on how to plant cabbage after that:

1. Radish, daikon, horseradish and radish - all these vegetables "suck" nutrients from the soil that are needed by cabbage in the first place. And no amount of fertilizer will help restore soil balance!

The cabbage planted after them has poorly tied heads, it ripens almost tasteless.

2. Pumpkin and squash - Scientifically proven that these two vegetables change the microflora of the soil. If you risk growing cabbage after them, this will seriously weaken its immunity, and also disrupt the development of the root system. Cabbage will be vulnerable to pests in the upper soil layers.

3. Turnip - with her, cabbage has many common pests and fungal diseases that can winter in the ground and fall on young plants in spring.

But more importantly, after the turnip, the cabbage can grow to look normal, but will not last long.

As for beets and carrots, from personal experience I can say that white cabbage really grows poorly after them, but Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and broccoli - they feel great.

I also consider it necessary to answer the popular question - is it possible to plant cabbage in the same place for several years in a row?

You can't! The fact is that all types of cabbage are susceptible to the same diseases (including black leg, bacteriosis) and pests (the most famous are white butterflies, cruciferous fleas).

It is advisable to return the cabbage to the same garden bed only after 3 years. But if the garden is small and there is no way to wait, you can plant it every year. Only after harvesting, it is imperative to sow the site with siderates - peas, lupines, vetch - they will help restore fertility to the soil, enrich it with nitrogen.

In conclusion of the topic, I want to add that cabbage can be influenced not only by its predecessors, but also by growing crops nearby. And the worst neighbors are parsley, grapes, and also tansy.
