6 bedroom furnishing mistakes and how to avoid them

Okay, the bedroom isn't a showroom: it's a room for yourself and for relaxation. But if you can't feel relaxed and comfortable here, perhaps this is due to some mistakes in the interior of the room.

1. Incorrect dimming

Cream colored carpet, crisp white linens, feather-light curtains - a bedroom can be surprisingly light and friendly. Even so bright and friendly that in the summer at 5 o'clock in the morning sunlight can wake up.

Better this: if you completely darken the bedroom windows, sleep will be stronger. Fortunately, this does not mean hanging floor-length dark curtains: the key is high fabric density. The blackout curtains are available in pleasant light colors.

2. Purely functional lighting

A standard ceiling light makes the bedroom light enough so you won't get lost in the evening. But that's all: depending on the type of ceiling lamp, there is a choice between subdued semi-darkness or bright lighting with harsh shadows.

Better to complement the ceiling light with two more warm white light sources at different heights. A floor lamp in the corner of the room and a table lamp on the dresser make the bedroom look warm and friendly.

3. Do not decorate the bedroom

Of course, the bedroom shouldn't be overloaded with decor. But even without personal belongings, the room will resemble a hotel room.

Decorate your bedroom with a few accessories - but those that are really close to your heart. A large framed photo, a fluffy carpet or a plant in a beautiful planter will give the room individuality without overloading it optically.

4. Underestimate the nightstand

Is a small chair by the bed instead of a bedside table enough? Of course - if you put only one book on it at night or put a glass of water.

It doesn't have to be a classic box-shaped bedside table - but ideally a bedside table has a shelf and a compartment or drawer. So the book will not constantly fall to the floor, and the water will spill over. On the nightstand, you can place books, reading glasses, and earplugs in order.

5. Do without carpet

With laminate floors, the bedroom looks really modern - except for the slippers that need to be parked next to the bed. The view of the room will immediately become old-fashioned, but the problem of a cold floor and getting up in the morning will disappear.

The carpet next to the bed will make your morning rise more comfortable - and will also bring visual coziness to the room. If the bedroom is small, a small fluffy rug on one side of the bed or two fluffy rugs on either side will do the same.

6. TV in the bedroom

Not falling asleep without a TV show before bed? Of course, why not. Still, it's a bit tricky to fall asleep after the late film - and the visually huge screen doesn't quite match the bedroom furniture.

It is better to place the TV in the living room. And before going to bed, put your laptop, mobile phone and all other gadgets next to him.
