Personal experience of building a wooden gazebo with interesting chips

I bought timber and boards raw in autumn. In the spring he planed himself. The materials cost about 38-40 thousand rubles. rub. (2015) including brick, semi-finished materials, roofing, screws and paint.

I took the soil halfway down the bayonet, laid the stones, tamped it down, poured sand and tamped it down again. I just laid the tile without fixing, I didn’t fix the posts to the tile, as well as the strapping to the posts. I put it through a layer of roofing material, if the posts will "play" over time, it is not a problem to jack up a light structure and level the support. Foundation posts on

"Pillow" of stone and sand, plus, large-format tiles, due to which the silicate brick will not have direct contact with moisture.

The height of the vertical supports is dictated by the economy - Petty Officer2012 calculated so that a six-meter bar could be divided into three parts, two meters each. Above minus three centimeters went to the "thorn", below another five centimeters in height was taken by the floorboard. As a result, the net height of the rack from the floor to the upper strapping bar is 1.92 cm.

I first assembled the entire rafter system at the bottom, then disassembled it, painted each element with an antiseptic on all sides, dried it and gradually mounted it at the top. With the lathing of the roof it turned out more difficult, out of inexperience - "a million" times along the stairs back and forth - adjust the corners, try on, then paint below and finally fasten the finished one. But there was still the installation of flexible shingles ahead... Oh, my legs were buzzing from such physical education!...

All connections were fastened with self-tapping screws 180 mm long, and corner rafters with "three hundredth" nails. All the elements of the frame, as well as the sidewalls and roof boards, were covered by the craftsman with Pinotex Ultra wood impregnation, in one layer.

The floorboards and steps were covered in two layers of Pinotex Oil & Wood (terrace oil). I painted everything with a brush, as carefully as possible, from all sides. "Window sills", oak, used, got on a good occasion free of charge.

Near the river, to protect against mosquitoes, horseflies, wasps, as well as swallows, who stubbornly tried to start building nests from clay on rafters, he pulled a Tenax jamaica shading net over the gazebo. Sold at 2.3.4 meters wide, it perfectly protects not only from insects, but also from slanting rain and snow. Initially fixed the mesh with an overlap, but it was instantly blown in by the wind. Therefore, two chains had to be fixed to the floor to the top harness and the edges were sewn to them with a fishing line.

He started the frame under the roof in a week, working from morning to evening, the rest of the fine-tuning took another week, his son helped with staining.

Budget

A more detailed estimate for the construction of a gazebo looks like this.

• Beam 150x150 mm, 6 m - 4 pcs. ~ 0.5 cube.
• Beam 100x150 mm, 6 m - 4 pcs. ~ 0.3 cubic meters.
• Board 50x150 mm, 6 m - 27 pcs. ~ 1.2 cubes.
• Board 25x120 (150) mm, 6 m ~ 0.5 cubic meters.

Total for sawn timber: ~ 2.5 cubic meters - 17,500 rubles (7,000 rubles per cubic meter), plus 1,000 rubles for delivery.

• Soft tiles: Shinglas ordinary, 18 squares, plus ridge-cornice, 2 or 3 packages - about 10,000 rubles.
• Instead of a cornice strip (too wide), ebb, 8 pcs. 2 m each - 1000 rubles.
• Hardware (screws, nails and timber supports) ~ 1500 rubles.
• Pinotex Ultra impregnation 3 l, plus 3 l, plus 1 l - 3500 rubles.
• Terrace oil Pinotex Wood & Oil 1 l, plus 1 l - 1200 rubles.
• Bricks - 54 pcs, plus finished DSP (2 bags) - 1000 rubles.
• Shading grid 2x14 m - 1000 rubles.
• Electrician (lamp, switch and socket) - 500 rubles.

TOTAL: ~ 39 thous. rub.

Let the prices have changed since 2015, but as a rough guideline it will do.

Gazebo operation

In the thread that I opened Petty Officer2012 lamented that he had covered such beauty with a wretched net. However, he himself does not see anything wrong with this, it is comfortable to spend time inside the gazebo, and not to admire it outside. The mesh completely fulfills its functions - it shades, and all sorts of bloodsuckers do not disturb, and in bad weather the rain practically does not break through the curtain, babble, in a word. And the beauty from the inside is visible to everyone who rests.

As for the capacity, six people were mentally accommodated at the round table, and when four more were added to the "washing" ones, they simply brought in a rectangular table 120 × 80 cm. No one was cramped, and even dances were arranged, simply by moving the table to the corner. For family gatherings, according to the owner, there is nothing more comfortable than a round table. And to make it more comfortable for the legs, the craftsman purchased a cast-iron leg and assembled a tabletop from two grooved boards. For reliability and beauty, I covered it with a 4 × 40 mm metal strip and covered it with impregnation.

The gazebo overwintered without incident, the leaves were slightly blown up by the wind. But the ground was walking and one column was crooked, it was decided to jack up in the summer and add sand for leveling. However, a month later, when the ground warmed up, the support leveled itself out.

In the summer Petty Officer2012 engaged in improving the entrance. I welded a door from a 25 × 25 mm profile pipe, painted it and covered it with the same mesh as on the gazebo.

He raised comfort to a new level - he hung a hammock.
