Notes for the DIYer: a simple table and a cyclone for circular

As “from what was”, to make useful accessories for the home workshop. Personal experience

That "everything will be useful in the household" is an axiom, and if you throw out a seemingly unnecessary thing, you will need it almost immediately. So the homemade people are pulling into the back rooms and storage rooms that are more or less potentially usable. But when needed, there is always an “arsenal” at hand for skilled hands. And what to figure out practically for free, there is always.

Simple circular saw table and dust collector

Ivici

FORUMHOUSE user

I have a 2300W circular saw. Cutting depth - 7.5 cm. I mainly used the instrument in a stationary position, fixing the circular with clamps on the kitchen table. Once I got tired of it, and I decided to make a table for the saw, fixing it on it "tightly".

After inspecting the bins, the user found an old kitchen table. The only drawback of the table is the non-rectangular table top. Looking more, Ivici I dug a piece of furniture board measuring 0.9x0.7 m 2 cm thick with even factory edges.

T. Since the user was not going to cut a circular saw at an angle of 45 degrees, and the size of the cut, according to the experience of operating the saw, of 75 mm was excessive, he decided to simplify the design of the bed.

Ivici did not mill the recess for the saw support plate. Having drilled 4 holes with a diameter of 4 mm in the base of the tool, the user temporarily screwed the saw to the bottom of the tabletop with short self-tapping screws. Turning on the saw, Ivici cut a groove for the saw blade.

Next, I replaced the self-tapping screws with M5 countersunk screws, having previously drilled and countersunk holes for them. For the perpendicularity of the disk, I attached a U-shaped bracket, with a welded nut, bolt and locknut. Having secured the tabletop with self-tapping screws, I increased its length, adding on both sides a piece of chipboard 10 cm wide, leaving a gap of 1 cm between them and the tabletop.

Important: making a stationary circular saw out of an ordinary saw, it should be remembered that the inverted tool works in a suspended position that is not intended for this. A saw blade made of, for example, brittle metal by powder metallurgy may not withstand this loads, since the sole is structurally designed for the fact that during normal operation the user presses from above on blank.

As a rip fence Ivici used the aluminum rule.

To fix it, I took the clamps included in the saw kit.

Additionally, the user milled two grooves 2 cm wide along the edges of the table and glued metal rulers into them.

He also installed an outlet and a switch.

An optional accessory for the machine is a cyclone for removing dust and shavings.

Ivici

I somehow had to saw on this circular saw indoors. I will say that removing sawdust is a dreary task. Therefore, I decided to make a cyclone on the basis of an old vacuum cleaner with a power of 0.5 kW.

The user took a metal container (tank) with a volume of 30 liters as a container for shavings and dust.

Cover Ivici sawed out from an unnecessary piece of chipboard, making a groove in it 1 cm wide.

To seal the assembly, I glued in a strip of foam rubber.

Two holes with a diameter of 4 cm were made with a feather drill The first hole is in the center, the second is closer to the edge.

Then the user inserted plumbing bends into them at 90 degrees, and on the hoses - couplings and bends at 45 degrees.

All seams are glued with a glue gun.

Another outlet was also installed under the cyclone.

Ivici

The cyclone works great. There is almost no sawdust left. Additionally, I made a carriage to obtain perpendicular ends at the workpiece. Circular and cyclone turn on simultaneously.

Putlike for your wit!

With a little tweak an ordinary garden wheelbarrow can be turned into a heavy truck. And an exclusive table, which is offered for seven hundred thousand, do it yourself will cost thirty. In the video - about a home workshop.
