It's no secret that now you can buy any device and tool, in my opinion, they are invented faster than they are needed, just kidding. But, sometimes you can quickly make the necessary device, which was not at hand, and the simpler the process, the better. I liked the idea of ​​making a scribe and sewn from an ordinary self-tapping screw, I decided to repeat it as simply as possible.

Manufacturing

To do this, he took the first block that came under his arm, split it with a chisel (it could have been with a knife) and drilled out the center under a self-tapping screw to prevent splitting.

I screwed in half the hardware and cut off the cap with a grinder, now it's time to form a sting, and then a handle. I sharpened the tip and replaced the angle grinder with a flap disc.

I will use it to grind a block to shape the handle, do it by eye until I decide what it is. Then he decided to burn the tree on gas and soak it a little with oil, did not bother, used sunflower oil.

And if you need to get an awl, then you just need to grind off the thread on the self-tapping screw. The advantage of such a tool is its quick manufacture, and also, since part of the rod has a thread, it will not fall out of the handle. By the way, I saw how they make a more "sophisticated" scribe, consisting of two bolts and a nut (coupling) length, I want to repeat it next time.
