DSP floor slabs are better than plywood: installation
Environmentally friendly building materials are now gaining great popularity. For example, cement-bonded particle board. This finishing material is used for the facade, formwork, fences, floor leveling, etc.
If you need to level the floor quickly and easily, then this material is used. Plates are reliable and durable. They include: wood shavings, cement, impurities.
pros
- Moisture proof,
- Excellent sound insulation,
- Acceptable price,
- Resistance to rodents, insects,
- Low degree of flammability,
- Special strength, no worse than OSB.
There are also disadvantages. Low bending strength, significant weight.
Mounting
With a plank or concrete base, choose a product with a thickness of 10-16 mm. If you want to lay the slabs on logs, then choose a material with a thickness of 20 mm or more. If this is the first floor, then it is recommended to lay in two layers and the thickness of the product is from 10-14 mm.
Most often, a rough floor is made of DSP, taking into account the fact that tiles will be laid in the future. DSP is also suitable for soft surfaces (carpet, linoleum, etc.).
Plates are first placed on the floor, numbered and markings are drawn. Individual slabs are trimmed. It is better to cut with a hacksaw so that there is not a lot of dust.
After the material is removed to the side. The floor surface is cleaned, an adhesive is applied. Begin laying from the corner. The sheets are applied to the floor and pressed. Leave a 5 mm gap between the plates. Then these gaps are sealed with the same adhesive. Then they give the materials to grab and proceed to the finishing coat.
If the installation is on a wooden floor, then the base is prepared. All rotten boards are changed, the creak is eliminated, the cracks are sealed with putty. A primer is applied to the base, and then the plates are glued.
It is also possible to fasten the DSP to the wooden floor using self-tapping screws. Laying on logs is carried out on self-tapping screws in increments of 20 to 30 cm. Be sure to deepen the hat.
