Fighting mold in the apartment with your own hands
DIY repair. For some, this is the only opportunity to put the house in order in the conditions of maximum budget. There are those who do not trust strangers and strive to do everything perfectly with their own hands. Whatever it was, but one of the reasons for urgent repairs can be mold. This stuff doesn't pick the poor or the rich. She chooses more often the lazy, in my opinion.
But first things first. One family, let's call them the Ivanovs, managed to raise a certain amount of money and buy a small apartment in a few years. Plus, they borrowed pretty much from friends. And they stayed, as they say, "on the beans." The house loudly demanded repair, and friends quietly asked to pay off the debts ...
The idea came by itself. How's the idea? A desperate situation. It was decided to do an extremely budgetary repair with our own hands. The situation was aggravated by the fact that the apartment was susceptible to fungus. This significantly reduced the price of real estate. We bought it for it.
There are several reasons for the appearance of mold and rot:
high air humidity
rare airing
drying laundry at home
corner apartment
error in the design and construction of the building
savings on building materials
irresponsibility
pathological hoarding, when the air does not circulate from the abundance of things in the house.
Methods of influencing fungus and mold also exist. They are afraid:
high concentration hydrogen peroxide
drafts
direct sunlight
dry fresh air
some specialized means, the sensitivity to which can only be determined by laboratory.
Although it seems to me that first of all she is afraid of hardworking hands and responsible people. If I think correctly, let me know.
Several measures have been taken to combat the fungus:
The plaster and all layers of whitewash were peeled off as much as possible with a trowel.
In this case, safety rules come first: a protective respirator, plastic glasses.
The ceiling was washed with hydrogen peroxide (usual from a pharmacy).
Antifungal agents are applied to the ceiling and walls with a roller.
No sooner than a day later and after high-quality airing, putty was applied, the ceiling was covered with water-based paint, baguettes were glued.
Next - pasting wallpaper as usual.
The question seems to have been resolved. But it's still scary to see the hideous stains again. Has anyone had a relapse with mold in the house?
