How I chose an inexpensive, beautiful and functional kitchen set

Each hostess wants to have a kitchen where it would be cozy, comfortable and everything had its place. Therefore, the choice of a kitchen set is a responsible business that requires some preparation, the availability of funds and, of course, imagination.

I went through many ready-made headset options for my kitchen. But I didn’t like any of them: the color was wrong, the dimensions didn’t fit, the boxes weren’t roomy enough, the quality of the material was poor, or the price didn’t suit. As a result, I decided to order a set at a local furniture company, where, according to reviews, they produced quite decent products.

Measurements and choice of layout

Previously, I called, agreed on the time of arrival of a specialist. On the appointed day, a measurer arrived, measured the kitchen and outlined a work plan. The length of the product came out 3.60 meters - the entire wall of the room. We took into account the corner where they first wanted to put the sink, but in the end it was equipped in a slightly different place.

The distance for installing the gas stove was measured and the contours of the pipes and the meter were outlined in the figure. On the wall, it was required to determine the place for the gas water heater according to the conditions: closer to the hood and sockets, but not above the stove. The master coordinated all this with me and sketched it.

Selection of color and material

The measurer offered the services of a designer. But I refused, because I already knew what I wanted to see in the end:

· Chose a matte snow-white color for the upper level facade.

· Bottom facade - color of "wet asphalt". Doesn't sound like much, but the result is beautiful.

As practice shows, expensive wooden countertops in the headset do not justify their money. The measurer offered a choice of two options: 5 cm in width and 3 cm. As a result, I ordered a worktop of a smaller thickness, 5 thousand rubles cheaper.

· Closers.

· Pens.

· One drawer for spoons, forks, etc.

· Legs must be at least 7 cm high so that you can easily clean the floor under the headset. I also ordered removable wooden partitions to hide these legs.

Many, when ordering a set, are afraid of excessive humidity in the kitchen. Therefore, they choose artificial materials. However, only the facade (doors) is made of plastic or similar alloys, and inside there is chipboard everywhere.

· I decided that if the inner part is still made of chipboard, then why overpay? And I ordered all the parts from the same material, except for the table top. It was made from MDF.

Our kitchen is upholstered with clapboard and varnished. And such a detail as an apron seemed superfluous to me.

Assembly

We ordered the assembly of the product and were not mistaken: in such a matter it is better to trust a specialist. Despite the fact that all the boxes were brought already assembled, the master had a lot of work. During installation you need:

· Cut out a place for washing in the countertop;

· Fit all angles (the master suffered with fitting for more than two hours);

· Calculate the height by level - where to hang the upper part of the headset;

· Cut out recesses for gas pipes and hood.

The installation fee is 10% of the product cost. The headset itself cost us 37 thousand rubles, plus installation. But I will repeat once again: you can independently assemble a wardrobe or a bed, however, it is better to entrust the assembly of a kitchen set to a master.
