Made a tap holder for a penny. Saved 500 rubles
Once I decided to install a nozzle in the end of a soldering iron for polypropylene pipes (link below). I went to buy a tap for this business, bought another drill, let me think and take the holder, but the price tag of 500 rubles puzzled me, okay I can handle it without it. At that time, instead of him, I cut with a screwdriver, but today I decided to make it.
Manufacturing process
Used a long nut (coupler), two trimmed studs and two nuts, from nuts and studs I had to make two bolts, which I did not have. I drilled a hole in the long nut where the tap shank was placed, and the two short ones were supposed to play the role of bolt heads.
I drilled the nuts for the bolt heads and secured them with a hairpin from a piece of wire, also poured superglue between them and the thread for reliability. Better, of course, to use ready-made bolts, well, what was, then I applied. I assembled the structure and decided to test it on a piece of metal corner.
I drilled a hole, successfully cut a thread in it, into which I screwed a bolt to check. I liked that the handles that attached the tap turned out to be grippy and created excellent leverage when working, cutting is easy.
Of course, I looked on the Internet how much the factory holder costs, there are very affordable prices, and if then there were similar ones in the store, then I probably bought it, but I was not ready to take it for 500.
