Mini stepper trainer: what was revealed during use
The stepper is a compact home cardio equipment that simulates walking. Provides aerobic exercise, improving the work of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, includes the work of the leg muscles.
Stepper characteristics
This mini simulator model has a hydraulic mechanism, a digital display, and is equipped with expander devices. Product weight is about 5.5 kg.
Choosing and buying a simulator
When choosing a cardio equipment for home use, the following characteristics were important for me:
· Compact size (there is no place for a treadmill or an exercise bike);
· The presence of expanders;
· Minimum cost.
This model met these requirements.
Stepper ordered online. The product came in a cardboard box with foam to protect the stepper from impacts and damage during transportation.
The package contained the simulator itself, a key for fasteners, instructions, and expander. The product was complete and ready to use. The electronic board already had a battery.
When viewed on the right, I found a "button" that I pressed, after which the counter stopped working. I had to pull out the display and return the "button" to its place, as it turned out that this particular mechanism fixes data, as a result on the display you can see the time, number of steps, calories burned and the number of repetitions for minute.
If you stop walking, the counting stops after 3-5 seconds. Data is manually reset by long pressing of the button.
The mechanism of the stepper itself is quite tight, it takes effort to complete the steps.
What was revealed during use
Heating of hydraulic cylinders.
I do cardio workouts on a stepper for 40-45 minutes. During use, it has been found that hydraulic cylinders reach very high temperatures after 40 minutes of operation.
The pedals do not heat up, but the metal elements located near the cylinders become warm.
Erasing plastic elements
After 3-4 days of use, you will notice black dust on the front, which is formed by rubbing off the cylinders and elements located on the top of the machine.
Working with expander
Loops for attaching the cords are located not on the sides, but in the center, which creates certain inconveniences when working.
It is not very convenient to work with resistance bands, because of the length of the cord, exercises with the arms in front practically do not give a load. When spreading the arms to the sides, the load is felt, but after several approaches, the expander is no longer necessary if just throwing the cords on the floor - this interferes with further work, therefore, they need to be unhooked, which creates certain inconvenience.
If the choice is to buy a stepper with levers / expanders or without accessories, you can safely buy a regular model. The stepper is quite stable even without handles or a column, so there is no special need for all such elements, moreover, conventional models are more compact and lighter in weight. They will not take up much space in a house or apartment, and after training, they can be removed and moved to a suitable place without much difficulty.
In general, I was pleased with the purchase, the cost of such a simulator is about 4500 rubles. Product warranty 12 months. The main advantage is that the mini stepper allows you to perform full-fledged cardio workouts without leaving your home, taking up a minimum of space in the interior.
