"Got" Stumps at the site? An easy way to get rid of them in 1 Day

Surely many summer residents are faced with the problem of removing unnecessary stumps. If a small stump from an apple or plum tree can be removed quite easily, then with large stumps 40-50 cm in diameter, the situation is much more complicated.

I want to share with you the experience of removing such a large stump, and the whole procedure took only a day.

To do this, we needed simple improvised means that any summer resident will find:

· Drill with drills (the wider and longer the drill, the better);

· Ignition for the barbecue (or diesel fuel, if any);

· A small piece of cotton fabric;

· A low iron barrel without a bottom and a lid.

In this matter, my husband helped me, without him it would be difficult for me to cope. I asked him to make a vertical hole in the center of the stump with a drill, he took wide feather drills.

Then, at an angle to the finished hole on the side, I drilled a few more, from different sides, and they were connected to each other, for air circulation in the wood. In general, they riddled the stump.

We used diesel, my husband had about 300 ml in a canister, we poured it into the central hole. Then a piece of cloth was well soaked in the remaining fuel and, like a wick, was lowered into the hole.

It may not flare up the first time, try again. Ours steadily flared up only from the third. You can also try drilling the stump from the sides so that more oxygen flows to the open fire.

A few minutes later, it flared up so that it was necessary to put a barrel so that the sparks would not reach the buildings - the day was slightly windy.

After 2-3 hours, a burnt-out base appeared at the stump. It became clear that he would not last long. Indeed, by the evening, when it was almost dark, small charred fragments remained from the hemp.

In order not to leave the fire on overnight, we decided to try to break it down. Literally a couple of blows with the butt of an ax and the stump flew to the sides.

Of course, we did not touch the roots, but it was not necessary - without a trunk, they will not last long in the ground, they will rot in a couple of years. Since they were not visible on the surface, they were not a hindrance.

If there is such a need, you can try to pull out as much as possible, and then chop with an ax.

We covered the place where the stump was located. The husband is going to put a gazebo there.

So, with the help of simple materials, we managed to remove unnecessary stump from the site without unnecessary hassle.
