Screed on a wooden floor: extending the life of a wooden floor by 100 years (how to fill it correctly)
The base of wood and a layer of concrete are not very friendly with each other. How to apply a screed on wooden floors? This is a completely solvable task, if you take into account a few points, so as not to redo the entire repair later.
The purpose of the screed - level the wooden floor for subsequent finishing. Make a screed to extend the life of the wooden floor.
Do not pour the solution onto a fresh wooden floor. It is also not recommended to use the underfloor heating system under the screed on a wooden base. Do not pour cement directly onto the wooden floor.
Further finishing after pouring concrete - laminate, park, tiles, etc. An important step is priming the surface for moisture resistance of the wooden floor. Remember that the cement must not come into contact with the wood. For waterproofing, use a strong film (thickness from 100 microns). The film is laid with an overlap or the joints are glued with hydro-resistant glue. Use a damper tape (10 mm or more) to shield the concrete from the walls.
By the way, on our Yandex Zen RepairDom channel we talked about penoplex under the screed for alignment and insulation. Perhaps this information will be useful to you.
Prerequisite: the thickness of the screed must be about 5-6 cm. Concrete itself is a heavy material and can deform in weak areas of the floor. To prevent this from happening, add plasticizers to the solution. This will give elasticity, additional strength, fluidity.
Prepare M400 cement, sand. As a plasticizer, you can use washing powder or an additive such as Plitonit SuperStyazhka, plasticizer for concrete S-3. Solution proportions: cement 1 part, sand 3-4 parts.
Foundation preparation: Fill up the gaps between the boards with epoxy filler, polyurethane foam. Wooden floors with a primer (like Aquastop in 2 layers). After drying, lay polyethylene, make it with an allowance along the edges (7 cm).
Then we install lighthouses. Use grout beacons. Next comes the metal mesh.
However, instead of mesh, it is better to use fiberglass. Polymer fibers in solution will provide a strong bond in all directions. And then fill the screed with the solution as usual. When everything is dry, you need to cut the film around the edges.
The monolithic slab is covered with a film and moistened with water every day (for a week). This is important to prevent the concrete from cracking and getting stronger. Complete drying - 30 days.
