Why do I put a bottle of Iodine in the Greenhouse and so do many Successful summer residents

A couple of years ago, I met a neighbor in the country in a pharmacy, was surprised: she was buying iodine. I bought it too. Bottle. And she took a whole box.

We love tomatoes. Both have greenhouses, we plant the same varieties, the climate, you understand - the geographical difference is ten meters.

But with her they are like spellbound twigs. Bright, large, and some of the same, one to one tomatoes.

And mine are sometimes pale, sometimes crooked.

The stems are thin.

They bear fruit later.

And you cannot sin for seeds: we take in one place.

I sucked up and pressed on my conscience, she only shrugs her shoulders, she says, you see, everything is the same with us. But somehow I noticed in her greenhouse in the corners of the iodine bottles open. If not for that meeting at the pharmacy, I would not have paid attention.

I started to study the question, it turns out that iodine has a very favorable effect on eggplants, tomatoes and what else we have in greenhouses.

The point is in the limitations of the greenhouse: the very necessary environment, humid and warm, allows any fungal diseases to develop instantly. And if you really break agricultural technology, and plant plants more closely than prescribed (how can you resist?), Then air does not circulate between them, it is impossible to ventilate, which means that favorable foci are ready infections.

● iodine destroys pathogenic microorganisms, fungi, mold, which feel at ease in the microclimate of the greenhouse;

● in greenhouses the soil is quickly depleted, therefore iodine, settling on the soil with moisture, acts as an additional top dressing.

● plants improve immunity: they cope better with infections, they can more easily endure peak changes in heat and coolness, external interventions;

● fruits grow larger, ripen faster, gain better taste and supply of nutrients;

● the most valuable thing is that if iodine is in abundance, then the bushes do not gain excess nitrates, do not lay off reserves in the fruits;

I even began to disinfect the seeds like this: I put them in a jar and next to it, without wetting, I drip with iodine. Let me lie under the lid for a couple of hours, this is enough for iodine vapors to kill all the fungi on them.

I combine iodine supplements and keep open bottles in the greenhouse between the bushes. Iodine evaporates, disinfects the air and gradually settles on the soil. But the greenhouse needs to be aired, it is not useful for people to breathe in iodine vapor during watering and other work, we are not tomatoes.

And I spend feeding like this: I drip 2-3 drops of iodine onto a bucket of water, no more, and water all my plantings in the greenhouse a couple of times a month or spray the leaves, both protection and nutrition. And if you also add boric acid to 10 grams per bucket, tomatoes grow sweet, like honey.

By the way: iodine does not accumulate in the soil. It evaporates easily and evaporates at the first draft. Therefore, the bottles are always open.

Now my tomatoes ripen quickly, even one to one, bright red and very tasty. Such is the pharmacy.
