Now I bake cakes only in a bread maker: all the neighbors flock to the aroma
The Philips HD9046 / 90 bread maker we are talking about is not the first in our family. Before her, there was a cheap device no name, which served faithfully for two years. That is why we decided to purchase a more expensive model in the hope that it will last longer.
Why Philips HD9046 / 90?
In terms of a set of characteristics, the deferred start function was fundamental for me so that I could bake bread at night. This allows you to load the ingredients in the evening and get a hot, fresh loaf by the morning.
The second moment, which became decisive when choosing a model, is the ability to make yogurt. And this Philips bread maker does an excellent job. Especially for this, the set includes a plastic bucket for milk and sourdough with a recess at the bottom so that it is securely fixed on the knife pin.
The kit also includes a standard set for all bread makers:
· Beaker;
· Scoop;
· Book with recipes.
By the way, I bake my famous Easter cake exactly according to the recipe from this brochure, and it turns out just fine! It is worth noting that all the recipes from the book are worthwhile - the ingredients are verified to the gram and you do not need to fantasize anything.
Color played an important role in choosing a model. I needed a black bakery that would not turn yellow from the sun's rays, because it had to live on the windowsill.
What did I dislike about this model?
Its main drawback is the bucket. A branded bucket came as standard, which eventually began to leak water. This is a critical flaw, as the ingredients cost me several hours before starting the kneading. It leaked out about 2-3 years after purchase.
In search of a replacement, I found an unpleasant thing - a branded bucket with a mixing knife, a stylus, almost as much as a cheap Chinese bread maker. Perhaps it made sense to change not the bucket, but completely the device, but I cheated and ordered a homemade bucket in the depths of the Internet that fit my model. In this design, the bakery has been working regularly for a year and a half without any complaints.
So, what conclusions have I come to. Positive traits:
· Comprehensive complete set;
· Ideal recipes, including two whole Easter cakes (with yeast and yeast-free; as well as 2 types of dough - unleavened and yeast with a lifting function);
· Functions "Yogurt" and "Own program";
· Over the years of operation, the heating power has not changed, and as a result - a golden brown crust every day.
But all this pales in comparison with the price / quality ratio. An expensive bread machine served me as long as a cheap one, and then I needed to replace the bucket (or the whole bread machine, if I had not found spare parts for it). This is unacceptable.
But the Easter cake in it turns out to be simply amazing - crumbly, fragrant, airy, with always golden brown, and the dough always rises and bakes to perfect fluffy consistency.
What do you think, is it worth overpaying for a brand or is it better to save money?
