How to sew a protective mask yourself?
Good day. I hope that you are all healthy and that there are no health problems. Today we will make a protective mask ourselves from a fabric with a protective inner layer. Most likely, we will wear such masks for a very long time, and since they need to be changed periodically, it is more profitable to learn how to make them on our own than to constantly buy.
In addition, in the current financial situation, you will not buy too much, since everyone is not very fun with money. There is not much to tell here, so slides with some explanations will suffice.
This is how your future mask will look like.
First of all, you need to cut out such a pattern from a regular sheet of cardboard as in the photo. You may need to cut it several times to fit your face.
Further, according to this pattern, we cut out two mirror pieces from ordinary fabric, it can be of any color, even with flowers, the main thing is that the fabric breathes.
Consumables:
- The top layer (outer layer) is any breathable fabric.
- first inner layer - Polycellulose material. Any polyester cellulose napkin.
- The second inner layer will be Non-woven gauze
- The final layer (inner) is a non-woven fabric, you can take the same fabric that was used for the first layer.
For the convenience of sewing, we fasten it all with needles so that during the sewing process on a typewriter, they do not diverge to the sides.
After you have made a cake from different layers and stapled them together, place both mirror parts of the mask face-to-face as shown in the photo.
Now we start stitching with a machine and make the first layer along the inside, stitching two pieces together.
Next, we stitch the edges of the mask, it is desirable to keep the seam evenly. All that is unnecessary that we cut off from the outside of the seam.
Now we bend each horse a few centimeters, as shown in the photo, and stitch again.
You should end up with such a pocket for an elastic band.
We make a similar pocket on the back side and that's it, the mask is almost ready.
In order for the upper part of the mask to fit snugly around the shape of the nose, you need to make a pocket for the wire. We take a rectangular patch of facial tissue.
Next, see the photo. We sew a patchwork of fabric on three sides of the perimeter, then insert a piece of double cable inside, you can use any wire. We put in and sewed up a caress on the fourth side so that the wire would not fall out.
Next, we insert a lace or elastic band into the pockets. The mask is ready.
