How easy and simple it is to make a small window in a country shed with your own hands.
Nowadays, ready-made plastic windows are installed almost everywhere. You can easily order a window of any size and shape (if you had money).
But this is not always advisable.
Sometimes in the country, for example, you need to make a small window in unheated outbuilding or toilet.
In this case, it is quite possible that the window will cost more than the building itself.
therefore it's easier and cheaper to make it yourself from scrap materials. How? Consider below.
To avoid unnecessary expenses and trips to the store, decided to make a window from scrap materials.
First of all went in search of a suitable glass.
A window from an old wooden framecame up never better.
The frame itself did not have a presentable appearance, but the glass just came up.
Therefore, I decided to build on the size of the glass when making a window.
To make the frame, I took an inch board and sawed it into slats of the same size.
Then sawed off four slats with the help of a miter box at an angle of 45 degreesso that they form a square of a suitable size.
Then marked the resulting blanks in the center with a pencil.
And with a hacksaw I made longitudinal cuts to the middle of the thickness of each lath.
Then he turned them sideways and with a chisel and hammer chipped off excess wood.
Then fastened the slats together with self-tapping screws.
Then drank a hole in the wall of the barn to size and fixed the frame in the opening.
Finally inserted the glass into the frame and secured it with glazing beads around the perimeter.
