With the beginning of the heating season, the question of buying a humidifier arose in our family. The humidity in the apartment was very low - 10% -15%. The feeling of nasal congestion practically did not go away, and it was not comfortable to sleep. Since there is a huge selection of humidifiers from different manufacturers in household appliances stores, we could not make a choice for a long time.

- Steam. The principle of operation is to heat water to steam. Then he goes outside. Hot steam sterilizes the air to some extent, killing a significant proportion of the bacteria. - Ultrasonic. Under the action of ultrasound, water that has fallen on the metal membranes is split into tiny molecules, which turn into steam and are removed outside using the built-in fan. The room is humidified quickly, there is no risk of getting burned, the power consumption is minimal. But, you need to use high-quality, distilled water.

- "Air washing". The built-in fan draws air from the room, dust particles adhere to special plates and when the drums rotate, dust and microbes are washed off the plates into a special tray. The outlet is clean air. Such devices not only increase the humidity of the air, but also purify it. The downside is the high cost.

- Noise level. The lower the number, the better. Some models are equipped with the "Sleep" function, they can be used at night or in children's rooms.

- Additional functions. It is desirable that there is a low water level indicator, backlight.

It is advisable to put the device itself on a table or cabinet. First we put it on the floor, but the steam did not rise high, then we put it on the table and immediately noticed the effect - the whole room was like a fog.
