What plants and vegetables can be planted in the shade.

Most cultivated plants prefer to grow in open, sunny areas. But, unfortunately, the sun does not shine everywhere all day.

Some parts of your garden or garden are shaded. And so that darkened places are not overgrown with weeds, I want to pick up some useful shade-loving crops.

Here is a small list of useful plants that can grow and bear fruit in the shade:

- berry bushes. Raspberries, gooseberries, currants and viburnum can be planted under a wall or fence that shade the area. These shrubs do well in the shade of large trees.

- vegetable crops. Not many plants that we usually grow in our garden like shade. But some of them can survive most of the day without direct sunlight.

Of the crops familiar to any gardener, you can plant in the shade: beans, radishes, bitter radishes, carrots, red beets and lettuce. Certain types of cabbage also prefer shaded areas: late cabbage and cauliflower.

Spicy herbs can be placed in beds that are located in the shade of trees or buildings: dill, cilantro and parsley will delight you with lush greenery even in such places.

Some crops are even better grown in the shade: sorrel and mustard leaves growing in the sun very quickly form arrows and accumulate bitterness in the leaves, making them unusable.

If you have free shaded areas in your garden, you will certainly want to fill them with flowers to decorate your area. Everyone is used to thinking that flowers love the sun and do not grow in dark places.

In fact, there are many flowering plants that will feel great in the shade and delight you with a beautiful view.

What kind of flowers love shade

When choosing flowers that you want to plant under the spreading crowns of trees, you should give preference to undersized non-climbing plants.

For example, flowering plants such as periwinkle, sage, lilies of the valley, pansies and nasturtium are great for taking up empty spaces in your garden.

Even chic varieties such as hyacinths, cyclamens, rhododendrons, geraniums, and various fern varieties can be grown in shaded beds.

Usually, areas that are not pampered by the sun are very humid. But there are wonderful plants that, on the contrary, prefer soils with high humidity: hosts, moss, hellebore.

If you need to occupy the territory near the fence, you can plant a girlish grape that is able to braid and decorate the fence. In the fall, the leaves of the plant turn bright red and look just great.
