How to make handy plant tags that won't wear off or get wet.
Usually, a large number of various plants are planted at their summer cottage.
Remembering what, where and when planted is quite difficult.
And, if many plants of the same species are grown, but of different varieties, then in general impossible.
In this case you have to either keep a planting diary, or mark the plants.
How best to do, of course, everyone decides for himself.
For example, it is more convenient for me to mark plants. Moreover, tags can be made from scrap materials without extra financial costs.
Wherein they will not wear off and get wet under the influence of moisture and will last more than one season. How and from what to make them, we will consider below.
For making convenient plant tags fits good aluminum carbonated beverage can.
You need to cut off the neck and bottoms of the can using metal scissors.
Then the resulting cylinder must be cut lengthwise and cut into equal strips 3 cm wide.
Two types of tags can be made from strips:
- bayonet (stuck into the ground).
- suspended (mounted on garden trees);
For making a bayonet tag you need to draw a line in the center of the strip with scissors to make a stiffener and with scissors give it shapeas shown in the photo below.
For making a hanging tag you need to cut an oval from the strip and make a hole in it.
To sign the tag, necessary place it on a soft lining and with a pen, slightly pressing, write the information.
Then only attach hanging tags to a wire to trees and bushes, a bayonet - stick into the ground next to the landings. Convenient and durable.
