Lamp made of vacuum cleaner, brick and hose
How do you make an idea a spotlight or a powerful lamp made of the remains of it is not clear what? Whether the pipe came from a vacuum cleaner, or from somewhere else - I don't know for sure, I accidentally got it as a gift. But an unusual shape decorative brick found for the base on the street on the way home from the store. Old flexible liner will serve as armor for electrical wiring, well, and all the little things.
The lamp was made on the basis of a 10 W LED floodlight, in which it was necessary to change a piece of the native wire for a whole long one.
The hardest part was to drill a hole for a stand pipe of unknown origin. The brick turned out to be with granite chips, which drilled with a carbide bit and suffered a little. The stand turned out to be slightly larger in diameter of the hole, so I cut the lower part of the pipe with scissors for metal and made an overlap of 2-3 mm to reduce the diameter.
I made a hole in the tube at a height of 8-10 cm from the bottom for the wiring and passed an old wire with a molded plug into it and released it at the top.
I also fiddled with the searchlight, until I brought all the details to mind. On the wire threaded through the pipe, I put a flexible liner with a nut down, which inside the pipe perfectly centers the liner and provides it with an ideal position when bending at the outlet.
I removed the native wires from the searchlight almost completely, inside only I twisted them to the cut soldered ends. I screwed the nipple of the flexible liner with a nut from the inside of the searchlight and it turned out to be excellent armor.
Then he drilled a plastic nozzle, which was on the pipe and turned out to be just in place, and screwed a searchlight to it long bolt 10mmusing a pair of rubber seals.
After assembling the upper part, it acquired the appearance as in the picture below. It turned out something like loft style lamp - from a piece of iron that came under the arms, in short.
It remained to carefully drive the tube into the prepared one, that is drilled, washed and dried brick and check for operability.
In addition to everything, the rack has a retractable tube with a clamp, so that the height of the luminaire can be changed from half a meter to a meter. It is important that the spotlight rotates in all planes and is suitable for working both on the floor and on the table top.
I plan to use the finished thing at home and for side illumination of the plane of walls, ceilings when puttingty and plaster in order to eliminate defects and sagging.
More it remains to glue a piece of fabric on the sole of the standso that it does not scratch the surface of the table or floor and it is quite possible to put it on some place of honor.
Perhaps the brick found would have caused a bump or abrasion, and now it is completely safe for health, unless, of course, it falls off the table. Or maybe such a step even saved someone's life, who knows !?
I would be glad to hear your thoughts on the results of assembling this homemade product. You can learn in detail about all the moments of manufacturing from the video below.
