How I, despite the initial resistance of my husband, acquired a wonderful helper in the kitchen

Buying a dishwasher went from a dream to an obsession when I had my third child. My daughter was constantly in her arms, and it was very insulting to spend free minutes washing mountains of dishes. At first, my husband laughed at my requests to buy a dishwasher, but soon realized that I would not lag behind.

How we chose the dishwasher

The main argument that my husband initially tried to dissuade me from dreaming was the tiny size of our kitchen. In response, I began to look for narrow models, convincing my spouse that we would be able to place the assistant in the nightstand under the sink.

Initially, I did not look at the sophisticated and expensive models of dishwashers, realizing that my husband simply would not agree to pay 25,000-30,000 rubles for a thing that we did well without before. Therefore, I delved into the study of budget dishwashers. I studied the offers on the website of the wholesale base where the spouse works, and then searched the Internet for more detailed characteristics and reviews of the model I liked.

Purchase

I chose a narrow Midea MFD 45S 100 W dishwasher, on the base it cost about 14,000 rubles (summer 2019). My husband went and bought it for me.

My calculations turned out to be wrong: the new element of household appliances could not fit in the cabinet under the sink. The machine is equal in height to the washing machine (which we also have Midea), its width is 45 cm, and its depth is 61 cm. I had to look for a place to put the typewriter. Found, set, husband (good, hands in place) connected.

Washing first impressions

We bought in advance special salt and tablets for washing dishes, I did not take the rinse aid, because it was already part of the tablets. I was eager to check out the dishwasher, but first I carefully read the user manual booklet. I poured almost the entire (!) Pack of salt (1 kg) into a special compartment, put a tablet in the compartment and made up the dishes that had accumulated during the day, trying to follow the recommendations for the arrangement of plates and pots.

My machine has four main wash cycles: fast (for lightly soiled dishes), Eco (with economical water consumption), standard and for heavily soiled dishes. The first time I turned on the Eco cycle. Probably, the fact that the dishes stood in the sink for a long time, not cleaned of food debris, did not allow the machine to make an ideal impression after the first wash: there was dirt on the salad bowls and plates. But I was still happy and quickly (until I saw my husband) rinsed several items in the sink.

The dishwasher really helps to save water, consuming 9-12 liters per cycle. Energy consumption is class A, so I did not notice a large increase in electricity bills during daily use of the dishwasher. Dishwashing detergents... perhaps these are the only additional expenses for invaluable help. But I found inexpensive 3-in-1 tablets that save on salt and mouthwash.

Inside the machine there are two wire racks with dividers for dishes. On the bottom there are foldable holders that allow you to stack different pans and pans. There is also a removable cutlery basket. The upper tier is for plates and glasses. Both tiers are extendable and can be removed.

I am happy with the purchase!

I love my assistant! Yes, you have to clean the dishes from food debris. Yes, sometimes the machine does not cope with traces of meat broth on the inner walls of pots. But basically, all dishes are perfectly clean. I made the right decision by choosing this model, and I hope that it will serve me for many years!
