Why the creation of multi-storey microdistricts is not an option in solving the housing problem
In recent decades, it has become fashionable in Russia to create entire areas of high-rise buildings with closed courtyards, despite the objections of urbanists. While the whole world is refusing to use standard buildings in the country, they are trying to solve the housing problem in relation to the population.
But such development will lead to even greater problems in the future. This is clearly seen in the example of the current Khrushchevs, which are now less and less suitable for a normal life. This is due to the pendulum migration in the city - people do not work where they live. In such a situation, entire districts are empty during the day.
The first floors of high-rise buildings, intended for shops and restaurants, do not bring profit to the owners and are empty. Thus, the sleeping areas over time turn into ghettos, from where the outflow of the population begins.
In addition, people are not comfortable living among high-rise buildings. Studies show that height puts pressure on people morally. It is not for nothing that the people call such houses "anthills". Unfavorable urban environment forces people to flee the area. Most residents perceive their home only as a place to sleep.
There is an acute problem with transport. Since usually such sleeping areas are located on the outskirts of the city, a private car becomes the best solution for residents. Every new house is equipped with underground parking, but even this cannot solve the problem of lack of parking spaces. This leads to situations like this:
Any free space in the yard is given over to the power of the car. The entire space in the courtyard is asphalted, which further disfigures the urban environment.
Thus, we come to the conclusion that the construction of multi-storey microdistricts is not an option, even in cases of successful architectural solutions. The whole world is moving to low-rise buildings, which create more comfortable living conditions for people.
