But it happens that I hear this from a client:

How the clean glass system works in a fireplace

SChS works according to a certain algorithm. Firstly, the air flow blown onto the glass simply deflects the flue gases away from it, forming an air curtain: the smoke does not go where it is blowing from. Secondly, washing the glass surface with air currents, it dries it out and less dirt sticks to dry glass. Thirdly, by delivering oxygen to the soot drop zone, it allows burning soot and soot particles directly on the glass at high temperatures. This process is called self-cleaning.

After this information, the customer has a logical question: "Should the soot around the glass also self-clean?"

The answer is negative - the soot around the glass needs to be washed, and then, just to prevent repetition, namely: to operate correctly and cleaned in a timely manner.

How to avoid soot from a wood burning fireplace

But at the time of construction it is possible and necessary to achieve that it is not initially smoked. You just need to choose the right firebox, giving preference to modern and technologically advanced, and not just inexpensive boxes for burning firewood. It is necessary to select a proper chimney for the firebox, which will divert smoke into the atmosphere in full. It is necessary to ensure a qualified installation in full compliance with standards and safety rules. And then, in the user's tasks, it will only be necessary to properly operate and clean the fireplace and chimney in a timely manner.

In general, the presence of an incorrectly made and smoked fireplace from someone of your acquaintances is not at all a reason to deny yourself the pleasure of enjoying the fire. A smoking fireplace often contains selection errors and possible equipment conflicts, design flaws, installation errors and poor maintenance. This can and should be understood and errors corrected.
