The better to remove old grout from tile joints
At one of the applications, the owners asked to remove the hydrobox, and put instead a shower stall with a low base, age, you know. A booth, so a booth, but the problem was that the tiles were already laid in the bath. Previous masters did not bother, they did not hide pipes in the wall, and there was no need when connecting the hydrobox. But when installing a shower stall, the pipes for connecting the mixer must be hidden under the tiles.
Cleaning seams
For my plan, I had to remove only three tiles, like a little, took a knife and began to scrape off the grout, otherwise they cannot be removed accuratelybut things went hard this way. I decided to come up with something to speed up the process, but what to think, you need to make a scraper in the shape of a hook. I had a plastic handle on which the canvas is attached for metal, I took a piece of the canvas, grinded it with a grinder in the form of a hook, tried it, it went well.
Everything seems to be fine, but not as fast as we would like. The idea came up to crochet the grout and use the plastic handle as a lever, things went faster.
He cleaned the seams, managed to loosen and remove the lower tile, then with a chisel, prying the plaster, he removed the top two, not a single tile burst, all whole without chips.
I just don't know whether it will be possible to install them in place due to the layer of glue adhered to them, I will try to remove it with a LBM, a petal disc.
