DIY aerated concrete grater. The most optimal model
In the article: DIY tool for laying aerated concrete blocksI showed what kind of aerated concrete grater can be made from a nail plate. But, according to reviews, it is not enough for long: the teeth are bent and erased.
I spied on the idea (video below) and made it out of scraps of laminated plywood:
Only inexpensive pens are purchased. It looks like a collective farm, but I didn't pursue beauty. The main thing is functionality. Dimensions:
- large: 600x350x16 mm;
- medium: 400x250x16 mm;
- small: 600x120x16 mm.
Bolts and nuts for fastening - M4. There were such, but better than a larger diameter. The nuts must later be replaced with "lambs". It's not urgent. Large and medium are made of two mm thick film faced plywood sheets. As I wrote - from what remained. Optimum thickness: 16 mm.
Acquired 1 rm each. sandpaper: H50 and H100. But it is better to purchase the largest one - H100. Unpopular option, not sold everywhere.
The graters are ready. According to reviews, one strip of sandpaper with a large grain of H100 is enough for someone to sand an entire floor, and someone for 3-4 rows. It depends on the moisture content of the aerated concrete. Sanding with such a float is not possible after rain. The dust becomes "mush" and clogs the sandpaper.
We came across similar models in one of the stores. The cost is small. If you don't have plywood at hand, you can safely buy it.
I tried it in work. Quickly and evenly cleans irregularities on aerated concrete. How it comes to stripping and leveling the first row - I will show the process and the result.
I spied this idea on the Real Builder channel on youtube. The video itself:
Graters are sold through the author of the video on his website. Those who do not want to do it with their own hands, waste time - can be purchased. Graters are sold immediately with sandpaper.
In general, I recommend just such an option for aerated concrete grater for those who begin to build from this material.
