How to make a garden swing in the country with your own hands.
Probably, many remember pleasant things from childhood feeling of flight and delightwhich occurs when swinging on a swing and I am certainly no exception.
Therefore, I have long dreamed of installing a swing at my summer cottage.
But, as usual, it happens there are always more important things to do and the installation of the swing was postponed from year to year.
Someone will say that you canit was already possible to buy a ready-made version of the swing, but quality models are quite expensive.
Yes, and I wanted to make a swing myself, so that it is reliable and conscientious.
And finally, hands reached them. What came of this, we will consider below.
I decided to make a swing, if possible, from available building materials, to reduce financial costs.
I took logs for the racksthat remained after dismantling the old barn and using an ax hewn them.
Then a grinder with a petal nozzle polished logs.
I decided to install the swing in the ground, so ends of poststhat will be buried in the ground, lubricated with used oil (working off).
While the racks were drying, he began earthworks.
First thing dug four holes about 60 cm deep, he poured some rubble on the bottom and set up the racks.
Side racks pulled cross to crossusing studs (12mm) and nuts with washers.
After that, the racks were concreted and left the structure for a day.
At this time, I started assembling the seat.
For this, a block of 50x50 mm paspil into lengths of 60 cm.
To give the seat a more comfortable anatomical shape, the abutment of the bars made at an angle of 110 degrees and fixed with corners.
Then I made the seat itself from an inch board, as shown in the photo above.
Back to the racks the next day, made crossbars and laid and fixed the support log on top.
Then in the support log I drilled through holes in two places for attaching the swing seat.
Through them missed studs, to which I attached eye-nuts from the underside, and carabiners were inserted into them.
I also fixed the eyelet nuts in four places on the seat.
Then, through the carbines, he pulled the chains, hung up the seat and painted the swing.
