What makes a summer cottage not only a resting place, but a full-fledged habitat, apart from official documents? Well, of course - the availability of communications and, in particular, heating and hot water. Having solved the problems with gas, electricity and water supply, we took up the batteries and heated floors. And since we had already installed a bathroom, where a 30-liter boiler provided us with warm water, we decided to install a boiler in the basement. Yes, not simple, but two-circuit at once.

The decisive aspects in the choice were such positions

· Location - the boiler room is planned in the basement, gas enters the house there. Combined useful with useful. The wall boiler was chosen based on the quadrature of the heated premises.

· Power - our house is not the smallest, two-story. And each of our family loves to wash. It was very important for us to be able to turn off the heating circuit in the warm months, because who wants to live in 40-degree heat, and even with warm floors! So the real salvation was the so-called "two-stage" circuit system. And it is also very eco-logical: the less gas we compress, the less we pollute the air.

· The principle of ignition - since the boiler is located in the basement, running to turn it on with matches was not at all an option! We were looking for a boiler with electric ignition and found it! But in this case there is one snag - if electricity is often cut off in your area, then such a boiler in your house will need to be equipped with a mini-generator.

· The type of draft is a very, very important aspect, without the organization of which it is simply impossible to obtain a permit to operate not only the boiler, but any gas equipment. When planning a place for a boiler room, be sure to take into account the material of the walls and / or roof. It's not easy to drill a monolithic reinforced concrete slab yourself, I can tell you. And one more minor disadvantage of boilers with such a draft: the more unstable the gas pressure in the gas pipeline, the sooner the burner will wear out.

· The material of the heat exchanger is most often steel, copper or cast iron. Boilers with a cast-iron heat exchanger fell away immediately, since we originally planned a wall-mounted boiler. It remains to choose between copper and steel. Steel - lighter, copper - practically does not form a deposit.
