"After assembly, file with a file." History of purchase, assembly and use of a household concrete mixer
Six months ago, we started building a metal workshop garage in a private yard, and when it came to concreting the floor, we thought about the need to buy a concrete mixer. Stirring the solution with a shovel is a dubious pleasure, given the pouring area - about 30 square meters.
Purchase
There were doubts about whether to buy or rent, but the arguments in favor of buying outweighed:
- work in the garage is carried out irregularly, rent involves a daily payment, and if you take it repeatedly, you will have to carry large equipment back and forth;
- there is enough space for storing a concrete mixer in the garage;
- a private house involves periodic construction work, the mixer will be useful repeatedly.
The choice of a model in a situation of self-isolation was simple: in two local operating stores there was only "Optima BBS-130", geometric volume 120 liters, power 500 W, price 9800, warranty - year. A quick look at the information on the Internet convinced of the adequacy of the price and reduced suspicions about the Chinese quality.
Assembly
The Lego constructor looked simple enough:
- prefabricated frame with wheels, tilt steering wheel and pedal;
- engine;
- a drum in two parts with a gasket between them;
- mixing knives.
In fact, during the assembly, inconsistencies arose: the holes for the bolts in the upper and lower parts of the drum turned out to be with a slight displacement, 4 bolts did not go through. I had to drill holes. Mixing knives screwed to the bottom of the drum also did not fall into the holes for mounting on the top - the plates were bent by hand. The thickness of the metal is small, they bent easily enough. Some doubts arose when the engine was mounted - the fixing bolts, when tightened, entered the thread by hardly half a centimeter.
Using
The mixer is working properly: the garage floor is almost ready. The optimal volume of a single batch from experience: half a bucket of cement, one and a half sand, 3 gravel and half a bucket of water. If you load more and tilt the tank at the desired angle, some of it spills out, and when placed vertically does not mix.
The tilt of the tank is adjusted by pressing the pedal and rotating the wheel - you can tilt it at any angle, but when you release the pedal, the tank is fixed only in 4 positions.
General impression: according to the passport, the concrete mixer is "made in China", but in quality it resembles the cars of AvtoVAZ and is generally quite reliable.
