What do I put in the Garden, before sowing Onion sets. The result is pleasing every year

In my opinion, growing onion sets is not so difficult. The main thing is to choose zoned varieties that are perfectly adapted to local climatic conditions. And also, to make it happy every year, before sowing it, I got used to adding a "secret" ingredient to the garden.

And right away I want to clarify that I have not been preparing a plot for onion sets since the fall - somehow it did not work out for me with the pre-winter preparation of the garden for the next season, so all work takes place in the spring.

After removing the litter from the site and digging it onto the bayonet of the shovel, I prepare the following components per 1 sq. m. landings:

1 bucket of humus;

20 g of azofoska;

1/3 cup wood ash.

Humus is generally very good for many crops from the Onion genus, including not only sevok, but also garlic. Thanks to him, the sown plants grow, even if the weather conditions leave much to be desired.

Ash, in principle, improves the composition of almost any soil and even with excessive watering prevents the development of dangerous rot. If the site is characterized by high soil acidity, that is, you can add about 2 times more of it - to shift the pH level to the alkaline side.

As for the azophoska, it contains the most necessary onion sets at the beginning of the growing season elements - nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Moreover - in an easily digestible form and in optimal proportions.

If we talk about the complex effect of the additive, then it not only contributes to an increase in yield, but also increases the keeping quality of the harvested onions, and also generally increases the vitality of the crop, makes it more drought-resistant.

I also consider it necessary to warn fans to fertilize everything in the garden with manure - the onion sets absolutely cannot stand this! Once I did so and instead of him I dug up some kind of onion misunderstanding.

I do with the garden bed and something else. Growing this crop, it is impossible to ignore such a dangerous pest as the onion fly.

To guarantee your future harvest is safe from it, 2-3 days before planting the seed, you need to shed the garden twice:

1. First with plain water.

2. Then with a saline solution.

For the solution, I stir 1 cup of ordinary non-iodized salt in 10 liters of water. Salt very well destroys overwintered pest larvae.

At the end of the topic, I want to suggest that the preliminary preparation of the garden for onion sets described by me gives equally good results both when growing it on a turnip and on a feather.
