Dangers in the grass - spiders, mites and other insects: what to expect and how to solve the problem Part 2
Summer is the height of the summer cottage season for many Russians. And if you consider that most of them have free days that they do not want to spend in a stuffy city, then the dacha is a worthy housing option for the period of quarantine. But do not forget that spring is the time when all kinds of insects and arthropods are activated. And we are talking not only about butterflies and mosquitoes, but also about more dangerous inhabitants of lawns and shrubs.
Blister beetle
One of the most dangerous insects found in the middle lane is the blister beetle. Most often, blister beetles are found in open areas and attract with their unusual color: metallic (Shpansky flies). On its elongated body is a poisonous substance - cantharidin, which can cause blisters and abscesses when it comes into contact with the skin (hence the name). If this poison enters the bloodstream, it can be fatal. In total, there are more than 70 species of blister beetles.
If you touch one of them, use adsorbents and take an antihistamine. Wounds resulting from interaction with poison are difficult to heal.
T-shirt ordinary
T-shirt ordinary also belongs to the family of blister beetles. 30 mg of the poison of such an insect can kill a person. And if the poison gets on the skin, as in the case of the Spanish flies, it causes burns and abscesses, which are then difficult to heal. Most often, an ordinary T-shirt can be found in the southern regions and the Caucasus.
In case of contact with beetles, it is recommended to wash the place where the poison has gotten with soap and water, drink an anti-allergic drink and carefully monitor your condition. If you experience weakness, dizziness, or nausea, you should see your doctor right away.
Mosquitoes and mosquitoes
Few people do not know how annoying a mosquito can be in a room at night, and very few people like their hordes on the street in the evening. Mosquitoes are not the most dangerous insects that await summer residents in the garden or on the site. But do not forget that a mosquito can be a carrier of malaria, tularemia and other serious diseases. And also an enzyme secreted by a mosquito when a victim bites can cause allergic reactions. Mosquitoes are found in Russia, Abkhazia, and they have no fundamental differences with mosquitoes.
Midges (blood-sucking gnat)
These insects are most often found in the taiga zone, but some subspecies can also appear in the latitudes familiar to our summer residents. The bites of midges are painful, as a toxic substance is injected into the wound during the bite, which prevents blood from clotting. Burning and itching is felt around the bite. In general, the insect is not dangerous, but with multiple bites it can cause anaphylactic shock.
Common cross
The common spider is the most common type of poisonous spider in Russia. His body is rather large - up to 2.5 cm, the upper part of the abdomen is black-brown or with a red tint, as well as white spots in the shape of a cross. The spider lives in forests, on bushes, as well as in sheds, window openings and under canopies. The spider itself is not aggressive, but if disturbed, it can attack. The bite of the spider is painful, causing hemorrhage under the skin. The reaction to poison can be different - from weakness to colic and headache. Tissue necrosis may develop at the site of the bite.
To avoid the consequences, you must immediately rinse the bite site with warm water, and then apply a cold compress. In case of headache, you should drink an anesthetic.
Argiope
Argiopa has a body of 1.2-1.5 cm, and a silvery abdomen with longitudinal lobules or transverse stripes of dark yellow or orange. This spider is widespread in the central part of Europe. It feeds on grasshoppers and other insects, weaves beautiful nets in the grass, usually lives in small colonies of up to 20 individuals.
Not aggressive, but if you take the female in hand, she can bite. The bites are painful, after a sharp pain, the bite site becomes numb. Numbness and pain in the bite area disappear within 2-6 days. They are not particularly dangerous.
Karakurt
Spiders karakurt live in the southern regions of Russia. However, in recent years they began to be noticed in the Moscow region. The body of spiders is black with red spots on the abdomen, sometimes white blotches are found. Sexually mature individuals become glossy black. They prefer to settle in the wastelands, as well as among the wormwood.
The male's bite is safe, but the female's venom causes acute pain, swelling and dizziness. It is necessary to immediately consult a doctor, since it is very important to inject an antidote serum on time. The poison of karakurt can be fatal.

Samarinka, FORUMHOUSE member:
"Last year, as soon as the land on the site dried up and the grass began to break through, the entire site was treated with Zipermetrin. All - of course, loudly said. The main habitats of ticks are grass, bushes, and more. You will not find ticks in the beds. We process around the perimeter, paying special attention to paths and fences - abandoned areas on both sides. Where there are beds, we do not process them.
