I have long dreamed of a sewing machine. It is so convenient to quickly cut and fold new trousers or jeans, sew in what is large and sew a loose seam on a dress... In my family, everyone knew how to sew (exactly, to sew!), and my great-grandfather was an experienced tailor and cutter. I decided that genes should help me, and asked my husband for a budget sewing machine.

How I chose a sewing machine

Knowing nothing about the models, I went with my husband to the wholesale base, hoping to save money when buying equipment. A familiar consultant asked what exactly I want, I said that I want a good car, worth up to 7500 rubles. He offered me a Brother LS200 S for almost 7000, arguing that it has a conveniently located plate, under which the shuttle is located. We took it.

First stitches and... nerves

Arriving home, I immediately started looking for unnecessary scraps of fabric in order to quickly try out my new typewriter. It turned out to be easy to deal with threading: everything is described in detail in the manual booklet.

I turned on the machine and began to make test stitches of all available seams (this model has 14 of them), admiring the ease of operation with the foot pedal.

The top of my patch looked pretty decent, showing the seams that match those stated on the machine's panel. But on the reverse side, the flap was all in knotty loops of different lengths. I got a little upset and started reading the user manual again.

My useless efforts and efforts

I adjusted the tension of the upper thread, twisted a miniature screw at the shuttle, looked for help on the Internet... The machine continued to loop from below, disfiguring all the pieces of fabric.

In order not to hit my face in the dirt, I somehow hemmed my husband's jeans, convincing him that no one can see the inside seam. And that's all. For several months the sewing machine was on the table, covered with a napkin. The husband promised to take her to the base to show her to the tuner. Almost a year passed, and he took her. The tuner immediately said that it is better to buy such equipment in specialized stores, and not at wholesalers.

But the master repaired my car! Her husband brought her home with a sample of fabric, which had even seams. It was in March, the excitement with masks had just begun, and I decided to sew them on for the whole family.

Sadly, after a couple of even seams, the machine began to zigzag again. I put her on the table again, hoping that she herself would tune in to long-term work ...
