Air conditioner and humidifier from a plastic bucket
Greetings to the readers of the Kulibin channel, today I want to show you one interesting homemade product that I spied on from my foreign acquaintance. He lives in America, Arizona, Dilcon village and has a strange hobby. He loves to go to the desert, away from people, sets up a tent there and lives alone for 5-7 days. So he calms down and thinks about high, says that the night sky in the desert is very beautiful.
Now to the point. Desert means hot, and in summer it is generally sooo hot and dry. In the photo below, this is not Mars, this is the Navajo Desert in Arizona and the specific place where he pitches his tent. He says that there is a very beautiful view. Looking at the photo, it's hard for me to imagine what could be beautiful there)))
Once again distracted, but now to the point. Since the tent is hot and difficult to sleep, he built an air conditioner from a plastic bucket. The air conditioner is outside the tent and supplies moist cool air to the tent through a corrugated pipe.
This is what this miracle looks like. The idea itself is interesting, maybe some of the readers will come in handy.
Now let's look at how it all works and what the principle of operation is. I will not show the obvious things, I will only talk about important design features.
The diagram shows how to cut round holes in the sides of the bucket and the holes in the top cover are schematically indicated. There is one big hole for the fan, around it there are 7 small holes. Four holes for attaching the fan itself, two holes for attaching a guide tube under the corrugation, and one hole (slightly to the side) for the power cable. Then you will see everything in detail.
Inside the bucket there is a material that can be easily blown through. Here I do not really understand what kind of material this is, but says what it is sintepon and here it is used in rolls as steam and heat insulation in houses.
The next element is a polypropylene hose. The hose is made in a ring along the inner diameter of the bucket and holes are made in it on one side for water to escape. The hose is connected with a tee.
Now a photo of how it all works. you should see in the photo, I tried to draw it as clearly as possible. The hose is in a ring on top of the synthetic winterizer with the holes downwards, so that the water flows through the synthetic winterizer to the bottom of the bucket. An electric pump is installed at the bottom, which takes water and supplies it up again.
I think the essence of the work is clear. Pour about 2 liters of water to the bottom of the bucket. A friend has a portable refrigerator in the car where he carries ice. Throws some ice into the water to cool.
Two liters is enough for the whole night, the ice of course melts quickly, but this is enough to fall asleep, and then humidified air blows and sleep is very comfortable.
Now let's get down to the details. This is how the lid looks from the inside.
As you can see, the fan is mounted on four bolts and just above the plug with a cable for powering the motor.
This is how the lid looks from the outside.
This is the black thing that the arrow is pointing at. It shows two fasteners at the bottom with bolts that attach it to the bucket lid. I have no idea what this thing is, but I think that an analogue can be made from a regular HDPE pipe.
This is what the plug in the bucket lid looks like. The power supply is connected here, which provides electricity to the electric pump and to the fan.
An electric pump and a 12 volt fan are used. It comes with a small battery, a power controller and a solar battery that generates 12 volts / 60 watts. It charges the battery during the day, and at night it powers the air conditioner.
Here again I show a schematic system of the air conditioner.
While describing, that's what I thought. But it can also be applied in the opposite direction? I don't know if the fan will be able to push through the synthetic winterizer and how effective it will be.
Here is such a contraption, dear readers. If you have interesting thoughts about such an air conditioner, then state it in the comments, it will be interesting to read.
And I also recently launched my new channel site. There is not a lot of material, but it is in the process of filling. There are also interesting homemade products there. Welcometo Kulibina's website. Peace and kindness to all.
