Cherry blossoms, but few ovaries? I tell you what needs to be done Must be done for a good Harvest
Cherry has long been an inhabitant of my garden, but only recently I have achieved its intense yield. Considering all the factors that slow down the formation of the fruit, now I harvest in buckets every year. To avoid lean growth, I will share my experience.
Planting and leaving
Choose cherries that are fast-growing, otherwise do not expect fruits in the next 5 years. By planting her in a sunny and windy place, I contributed to normal growth.
When planting, I applied fertilizer and added ash and chalk to the soil, which fight the increased acidity of the earth. But the only time to fertilize the seedling was not enough.
Depleting the soil with useful substances, it requires periodic feeding for further development.
Intense pollination
For a long time, my cherry grew far from other trees. But its regular flowering began only when I planted a different kind of tree next to it.
The self-pollinated species helped the cherry with cross-pollination and flowering soon began. But the formation of flowers may not occur due to the absence of bees. By treating the tree with a sweet solution, you will solve this problem.
Crown pruning
Untimely pruning of the crown affects the low yield. But this requires additional knowledge. Out of inexperience, I cut off the flower buds that would bear fruit for up to 7 years.
Also, you cannot cut off annual shoots that will bear fruit next year.
Influence of weather conditions
Last year I was faced with a lack of fruit. Later I realized that the weather conditions were the reason:
· In hot weather the quality of pollen decreases;
· With high humidity, rainy and cold days, pollinating insects are less active;
· Frosts cause kidney death, so in late summer and early autumn I skip watering and fertilizing with nitrogen.
To delay flowering in early spring, I poured snow into the trunk circle and covered it with mulch. As protection from frost, my trees were helped by covering material and abundant watering in the evening.
In order to prepare plants in advance for temperature changes, I treat them with a special substance.
Diseases and the impact of harmful insects
Insect pests, which cause a number of diseases, can affect yields. The most common is comomomycosis. Seeing brown spots appear on your favorite cherry is not a pleasant sight.
Monilial burn also leads to the absence of fruits. Affecting the ovary, it leads to leaf fall and the appearance of spots on the bark. But these are not all diseases that your tree may face.
Use special preparations as prevention and pest control. In the modern market, there are many tools that will contribute to the quality growth and high yield of your tree.
