I will tell you step by step how I remove leaves from Tomatoes. There are many times more fruits and they are Bigger

In order for the tomatoes to grow strong, to fully perceive the fertilizers applied, not to get sick again and to bring large fruits in large quantities in due time, you need to remove unnecessary leaves from them!

And in fact - there is nothing difficult about it. Personally, I am used to acting on the same scheme every year, suitable for almost all varieties.

I carry out the first procedure 10-14 days after transplanting, when it adapts to a new place. My goal is the lowest leaves, the ones that "sweep" the ground.

You cannot leave them - it is they who can get sick in the first place and then infect the entire bush, picking up spores of something bad from the ground. Plus, they are more likely to rot in wet weather.

But the most important is the second stage of thinning tomato plantings. You need to start it during the period when the tomatoes will form the first and second flower brushes.

Perhaps many gardeners have heard that at this time nothing can be done with the bushes - there is a chance of losing the crop.

But in fact, this is the most favorable moment to redirect the forces of each plant in the right direction.

The fact is that the ripening of the crop requires a lot of vitality and nutrients from the bush. And he has reserves of strength, that is, more than what the root system is capable of, he cannot extract from the ground, no matter how much fertilizer we apply!

And part of the green mass on the bush only wastes these resources. That is, the tomato may not "fatten", but it is not in good condition either. Therefore, guided by personal experience and feedback from other experienced gardeners, I insist on removing the leaves.

It is necessary to literally bare the entire stem from them, freeing the tomatoes from the ground level to the second flower brush. In time, this procedure usually falls in the second half of July, but of course - there may be other periods depending on regions and varieties.

In conclusion of the topic, I also want to add that the removal of leaves from tomatoes must be carried out according to certain rules:

1. The right time is evening, so that during the night period of rest the plants have time to recover a little.

2. Do not apply any fertilizer 2-3 days after the leaves have been removed.

3. Leaves are trimmed with scissors or pruners, but never by hand.

4. The instrument is pre-disinfected, for example, with alcohol.

5. You need to remove the leaves so that the cutting area is minimal.

6. The removal of greenery should be carried out before the evening watering - water will help the bushes to heal "wounds" faster.
