And again the stove: yesterday it fell apart, but today I glued the tiles
Yesterday I was busy with the stove in a private house, which I already wrote about. Instead of the planned tiling, it took a whole day to patch up and plaster a little, since the rude just fell apart along the way. Continuing the theme, a little about what came out according to the customer's design idea.
He began to glue the tiles roughly. The difficulty was that the slab was initially curved and already the first two tiles had to be cut to get to the level on the horizon.
As it turned out, when I smashed the rough yesterday, I freed the shutter frames that had been walled up from above and previously pasted over with wallpaper. I didn’t notice it myself, but the hostess looked at this case and remembered that the valves themselves were preserved. I pulled them out of the closet and under them I had to cut holes in the tiles with a grinder. They are also visible in the picture above.
Then I pasted over the front side of the stove and slightly hooked the adjacent walls. Somehow it didn't work out very impressively, but in the big picture - it's okay, such is the request.
And finally, I had to glue the side plane of the plate. What, and cutting was enough, which took most of the time. I used glue for gluing Ceresit CM-11 - one of the most reliable options I know of. For all the work, 1 bag of 25 kg was enough. It also remained decently.
In order to maintain the level, there were some problems in some places, so this moment had to be smoothed out due to the unevenness of the walls and the lack of desire to align them on the part of the hostess.
Then it remains to wipe the inter-tile joints, putty the ugly sections of the walls adjacent to the tile to prepare them for wallpaper. The grout for the joints was taken as usual, not waterproof. Well, and then still have to deal with the ceiling. Here's a plan.
