An amazing way to remove water-based paint from linoleum with kerosene
Hello! I want to share just an amazing method of removing dried water-based paint from the surface of linoleum. It does not matter how long the paint is on the coating. For example, I have 5 days of paint, just after the repair of the ceiling. So to speak, I spied a life hack on the Internet, because I forgot to remove paint stains right away. As a result, they dried up and did not want to leave even under the influence of a solvent.
And then ordinary household kerosene came to my aid. I bought it at the nearest hardware store for a penny. It was he who helped me to bring the flooring back to normal. But my husband suggested to me already to remove the paint with sandpaper, but no, I did not agree to any. And so to the point.
To remove paint stains I needed:
1. I have this kerosene, the most common for 50 rubles.
2. A pair of clean cotton pads.
3. And, of course, protective gloves (rubber).
Actually, nothing else is needed.
I had spots of paint almost all over the surface.
These are such nondescript drops that spoiled the whole appearance.
To remove stains, you need to moisten a cotton pad in kerosene gently so as not to spill. So that it does not literally drip from it, so that it just soaks.
A moistened cotton pad must be applied to the drops of paint for 20-30 minutes, if the pollution has been for more than one month, it is better to hold it longer.
During this time, it is important not to touch the disc and keep children and pets away from it. Because kerosene is quite toxic. By the way, it is best to remove stains with open windows or doors. After all, the smell is quite pungent.
After 30 minutes, I removed the cotton pad and was pleasantly surprised because kerosene, one might say, eaten away the paint to smithereens. Honestly, I could not believe it, but the result is obvious.
I want to say that the first thing I did was try to remove one stain, because I did not know the predictability of this method and immediately began to spread cotton pads over the entire surface.
