Hallway in a studio apartment: myth or reality? 5 working ideas to follow
Open plans can be found today in many parts of our vast country. And why? Yes, because with a very small area, apartments without load-bearing walls allow you to equip the space in the best way, based on the needs and desires of the owner of the home. But there is one small drawback in studio apartments!
Good afternoon dear friends!
This is the absence of a hallway. As a result, entering the house, an absolutely stranger immediately enters the personal space of the household. That, you see, is not very good! So, you can cope with such a problem, but not clumsy with the help of building walls, but creatively - using a design approach. And so that you do not have to "rack your brains" over delimiting the hallway space and the rest of his small apartment, I prepared this material.
The benefit of such solutions is a lot, from color zoning to the placement of interior elements.
1.Use of color. Painting the walls (or even part of the ceiling) in contrasting colors and shades is the first thing that can be used when dividing the space in an open-plan apartment. This approach allows you to create two completely separate "rooms" that will have their own personality.
By the way, the material for zoning can be not only paint, but also wallpaper, decorative plaster, veneered panels, etc. In this case, everything depends on financial capabilities, interior style and, of course, taste preferences.
2."Play" with flooring. Would you like to paint the walls? No problem! How about using a variegated floor covering that is not similar in texture and color. For example, hex tiles at the front door and laminate flooring in the living room / bedroom.
As a result, you will be able to make a beautiful contrasting transition from one zone to another, while maintaining freedom and openness in the apartment.
3.Installation of a glass partition. If you still want to physically separate the room and the hallway, then consider installing a transparent or translucent screen.
Unlike a conventional solid partition, it will not interfere with the passage of natural light, and, as a result, the modest space you have allocated for the hallway will no longer seem so small and dark.
4.Furniture zoning. Ordinary furniture, such as a wardrobe, can become another physical divider. Placing it at the entrance, you separate the room from the hallway, and also organize a spacious place for storing outerwear, shoes and other accessories. This is a two-in-one solution.
By the way, it is not even necessary to install large-sized furniture. You can put a small console table, a rack, a bench or a shoe rack with a bench at the entrance, on which it will not be a sin to sit down and put on your shoes.
5.Split by decorative screen. There are also "removable" ways of zoning space. For example, a folding screen. It can be used to fence off the entrance, and if necessary, simply put it aside so that it does not interfere with your movement around the room.
In addition, the screen is an extremely fashionable decorative element that can give your home interior a stylish and unique design touch in the blink of an eye. Fortunately, today it is not a problem to find different options with unusual ornaments or patterns.
