Siderata, about which everyone has forgotten, but in vain. They are more effective and healthier than Dung or mustard

Siderata have been used by humans for a very long time. Maybe they weren't called that before. They were simply considered green manure and were used to restore soil.

Some siderates have now undeservedly forgotten. But they help to restore the soil in a natural way, and the harvest is good without any chemicals.

I believe that people began to abandon green manure, because it is costly to grow them, both in terms of time and in terms of physical strength.

Many people find it much easier to go to the store and buy ready-made fertilizer. But the question is how useful the products grown on such chemicals will be. For me, the choice in favor of siderates is obvious here.

And after all, nature somehow used to do without chemical fertilizers, and green manures successfully coped with the restoration of soil fertility. Why not remember about siderates.

And it's not just mustard. I want to tell you about those green fertilizers that I plant on my site and get good results.

Calendula. Probably many will be surprised that calendula made it to this list. In fact, it builds up green mass very quickly and helps to improve the health of the soil.

Another remarkable property of this plant is that it repels pests, and in particular, the Colorado potato beetle. I really love tomatoes. And calendula helps me prepare the soil for the tomatoes.

I sow calendula in August. Then, after 2 months, I cut it off. This must be done before the flowers appear. And in the spring I have already prepared beds for tomatoes.

There are no problems with calendula seeds, since even one bush can fully provide them.

· Common lupine - this is the siderat that was one of the first to be used. This was done in Greece several thousand years ago.

With the help of this green manure, you can prepare the soil for cabbage or pepper, and for tomatoes too. But potatoes grow best after it.

Lupine saturates the soil with nitrogen, the roots loosen the soil well. But he himself does not take nutrients from the soil. Lupine should be planted in early spring, and after 6 weeks you can start burying its tops in the soil.

· Mouse peas - a siderat that ripens quickly. With its help, beds are prepared for seedlings, as well as for vegetable crops. I use it as a catch crop on my site.
