A fence made of self-made blocks with a washed concrete surface. View of the fence a year later
In 2019. made a series of articles about casting blocks and building a fence from the front of the site. I will give a few photos of the process of their manufacture and construction of the fence:
Casting blocks into molds for posts and lower masonry (2 rows). Type of blocks, masonry process. The final view of this part of the fence:
Metal picket fence with powder coating "antique" - staggered mounting on both sides. The blocks are painted with epoxy resin-based stone varnish. The varnish does not allow moisture to be absorbed during rains and the freezing water does not break the structure of the concrete, the pebbles do not fall off. The frost resistance of concrete has increased. The masonry is reinforced: each row with 8 mm composite reinforcement, two rods each.
I am more than satisfied with the result. The result is an exclusive look. Blocks with a decorative surface at the price of concrete. The same exclusive, beautiful and not expensive metal picket fence. It's good that I refused the option with a tree. The only negative in all this is time. The entire 2019 season was spent on the manufacture of blocks and the construction of this part of the 27 m fence.
It was interesting how the blocks of the fence overwinter in the masonry, whether cracks will appear, whether stones will fall off the surface of the blocks. In winter, when I arrived, I looked closely at the masonry:
All right. The concrete tape is cast in two approaches - the underground part with reinforcement of 4 rods and the above-ground part - also in 4 rods. Almost a year has passed since the completion of the fence. I made a short video with a view to show that a year later everything is in order with the blocks and the picket fence:
If someone is interested in this "washed concrete" technology, you will find information in the channel's articles (look through the articles to the top). Everything is told and the information is free. If you have any questions - write.
