Fence made of expanded clay concrete blocks (strong fence for centuries)
Those who want to thoroughly protect their site from prying eyes often choose a monolithic structure (deaf fence). I don't want to use the corrugated board, the wooden fence is rotting, the brick version will be expensive.
There is such a solution - to build a fence made of expanded clay concrete blocks. What to look for and how to build a fence?
Such a fence will last for more than a dozen years. He doesn't care about temperature drops, humidity.
The fence turns out like a real fortress, reliable and durable. Stronger blocks, which include small fractions of expanded clay. But there are nuances that you need to know about.
The foundation must be used tape. Additional reinforcement for strength. If the soil is clay, dense and low water table, then the depth of the foundation can be made lower.
So, mark the place for the foundation, dig a trench and level the bottom. Next comes the installation of formwork and fittings. You can skip the formwork, just pour the mortar to ground level.
Then, after 2 m, pipes are driven into the ground (the basis for pillars from blocks). After pouring the mortar, remove the formwork after 10 days.
For posts (pipe lining), blocks with good geometry are used. Two-hole lightweight aggregate concrete blocks are well suited.
They are more durable, with stronger walls. The bottom of the blocks is pre-cut in order to plant them on the support pillars. To fasten the blocks together, use cement mortar or special. glue. It is best to use the latter as it gives small seams between the blocks.
For the base / plinth, use 2 or 4 slot blocks. The most fragile are the 3 hole blocks. The bottom row can be coated with a concrete waterproofing compound.
Once the plinth and pillars are ready, you can paint the erected structure with facade paint. It is better to do this with an electric spray gun. Blocks with a large fraction of expanded clay will look spectacular. You can just paint it with a spray can.
You can revet the fence with decorative plaster, decorative stone or soft tiles.
