With the arrival of spring, many summer residents begin to sow dill seeds. After a while, dense bushes with an excellent aroma appear, which later open their umbrellas.

All the power of the plant goes to them, so you no longer have to be content with juicy greens. But I made a small discovery for myself how to plant dill with a minimum number of umbrellas.

And today I decided to share this secret with you, because it is not known to everyone, even to experienced summer residents.

Choosing the right seeds and fertilizers

The best time for sowing dill seeds in open ground is on the 20th of April. It is then that you can go for the right seeds.

I say right away that I personally prefer the varieties "Alligator", "Amazon", "Salute". I rarely have umbrellas and lush greenery grows all summer.

Also, when choosing, you need to pay attention to the following details:

What are the seeds for (there are types for germinating umbrellas and getting seeds, and there are for greenery, we need the latter;

• ripening time - medium or late varieties are best suited, since the early ones quickly begin to bloom;

· Information about umbrellas (there are manufacturers who write that they do not exist at all, if you buy this planting material, it is logical, this does not happen).

We also need different feeds. In plain soil, dill can also grow. Only now it will not work to build up a dense mass of greenery. As a fertilizer, I apply compost to the soil, saturating the soil with oxygen and nutrients that enhance growth.

I also recommend using manure. It quickly removes saltpeter and urea from the soil, which accelerate the flowering process of any garden and horticultural crops.

If you have nettle growing on your site, you can finely chop it and sprinkle it over the dill planting site. Or make a watering solution, which plants are watered twice a month.

Compliance with the technology of sowing planting material

Everything you need has been bought, you can start planting. Seeds germinate in gauze, which is soaked together with the seeds in warm water.

After that, you need to pull out the gauze and maintain moisture (I spray the seeds from a spray bottle). As soon as sprouts appear, I plant them in open ground. You do not need to separate the landings.

The thicker they are, the fewer umbrellas there will be. From the very beginning, it is required to ensure abundant watering of the plants. This will strengthen the root system.
