Flap discs are used by artisans for finishing or pre-processing. The grain size is different, the abrasive is electrocorundum or zirconium.

Petal circles well clean metal from rust and old paint. They are indispensable for wood, to process it for further coating with paint or other means. Flap discs are needed to quickly remove the top layer from the surface of metal, wood, etc.

During operation, they become clogged, a dark coating appears on the disc, which cannot be cleaned in the usual way.

1 way. A cleaning pencil is available. It is used for cleaning belts, thin sections. skins and discs.

The pencil is made of natural rubber. The manufacturers say cleaning increases the lifespan by 7 times. There is such a pencil from 1000-3000 rub.

2 way. You can cut the petals along the edge with an ordinary clerical knife. There will be a clean petal under it. And so on throughout the disk. Long process, but effective. There is a faster way.

I don’t want to give that kind of money for a piece of rubber, and I don’t want to waste time cutting the petals. There is such an interesting option.

3 way. A used sealant tube remains after repair. He will be useful to us.

Cut off with a knife where the nose is. If you see the sealant is not completely dry yet, leave it on for a while.

It will completely harden and only then will it be suitable for our purpose. A homemade cured sealant pencil cleans discs as well as a rubber pencil.
